amazon accessability hotline.

2021-12-16 Thread Karen Lewellen

Hi folks,
We have gotten posts of late regarding using voiceover with amazon itself,
and amazon related products like amazon music etc.

There is a dedicated accessibility customer service line for amazon,
1-888-283-1678.
One option specifically supports digital products.
I have not used that aspect directly, the other aspect will put items in
your cart, but I wanted to have the number in our archive for future
issues and questions.

Best,
Karen

Help with punctuation

2021-12-16 Thread FIOGKOS
Hello everybody I hope you can help me. I have an iPhone 13 running 15.1
I love using the dictation feature on my iPhone. In the past when I would
dictate a note, message, email, or anything for that matter I would speak the
sentence I want and at the end I would say the word period to insert the
punctuation mark. now whenever I say the word period it doesn’t insert the
punctuation mark it inserts the actual word period I hope you can understand
what I am trying to say when I dictate a message and I say the word comma it
inserts the actual punctuation mark or for example the words question mark Or
for example the words exclamation mark All is working fine except for the
period any ideas?

Re: TextEdit, moving / altering the margins, Help please.

2021-12-16 Thread 'Tim Kilburn' via MacVisionaries
Hi,

According to this Apple Support document, you cannot change the margins in
TextEdit, you’ll need to open it in Pages if you wish to change margins.

https://support.apple.com/en-ca/guide/textedit/txte313927e3/mac

Also, note that when using VoiceOver, you set a tab by pressing VO-space on the
ruler location, VO-delete will remove the tab at that location. Adjust tabs by
interacting with the tab, then using VO-left or VO-right to move it left or
right.

Later…

Re: modal window

2021-12-16 Thread 'Tim Kilburn' via MacVisionaries
Hi,

A modal window is a informational window with actionable buttons within. Sort
of like a dialog box with OK and Cancel buttons. If you interact with it, you
can usually read the content and/or press the necessary button. Sometimes,
you’ll need to press tab to get within the modal window to act on the items
within.

TextEdit, moving / altering the margins, Help please.

2021-12-16 Thread 'Ron' via MacVisionaries
I am trying to set the margins smaller to print closer to the edge of the
paper, likewise with the header and footer. I would also like to set this as
the default. II have enabled the ruler but haven't been able to acomplish the
above. Anyone able to offer any pointers in the right direction, thanks Ron.

will say: "This is a modal window." I hve no idea what such things are or how
you handle them.

thanks.
