Re: Where are audible books located on my mac?

2022-01-31 Thread 'Andrew Lamanche' via MacVisionaries
Yes, Brad, I know that. I meant once I open them with Books app, they are
placed somewhere within Books app. In old itunes i could find a section with
all my audiobooks listed in the media folder but now they are not there.

Clicking on Zoom link in Calendar app

2022-01-31 Thread minh Tam ha
Good morning everyone,

I have a few standing Zoom meetings on my calendar, but I am unable to click on
the link in the Calendar app on the Mac to get the meeting started. Is this not
possible through the app?

Thanks,

Normally, the Calendar app recognizes that it’s a link to a Zoom meeting, and
there will be a Join button in the calendar displayed info.

Hi,

And, after one looks in that folder location, you’ll note that the books are
not listed by any recognizable title etc. They end up with some sort of
strategically random string as the file title.

Re: Where are audible books located on my mac?

2022-01-31 Thread Jonathan C. Cohn
If there is a plist file in that directors it is probable that a translation
from the random string to the actual book info is in that file. But , more and
more Apple makes it difficult to find the direct files associated with a
specific document. Often there is not one file via but a container or a zip
file with a specialized name like docx ,pptx.

Re: Where are audible books located on my mac?

2022-01-31 Thread Brad Snyder
Sorry for the misunderstanding.
I never use the Books app for audible content. Once I download it into the
downloads folder, I move the items to an SD card that I use in my victor stream.

Re: Clicking on Zoom link in Calendar app

2022-01-31 Thread 'Tim Kilburn' via MacVisionaries
Hi,

That means that the creator of the Zoom session set the default as a phone
connection for audio. Not sure why, but, whatever. Instead, when you navigate
to the web address in the calendar invite, after VO announces it, press
VO-shift-c, which will copy the last phrase announced by VO. Go into Safari,
press cmd-l then cmd-v to paste that announced address into the address field.
Press return and follow the prompts. It should bring up a dialog asking you to
allow the opening of the Zoom app, press Allow and you should be in.

Re: connection from iPhone SE to receiver

2022-01-31 Thread 'Tim Kilburn' via MacVisionaries
Hi,

I’m not certain that this kind of connection is actually possible. There would
need to be a special chip in the cable to let the iPhone know that this has
audio capabilities in order that the audio would go over to the receiver.
Maybe, if you had the lighting to 3.5 mm headphone adaptor, then a 3.5 mm to
RCA cable, that would do the trick. There should be no configuration required.

Re: Where are audible books located on my mac?

2022-01-31 Thread 'Tim Kilburn' via MacVisionaries
Hi,

That backwards step was taken back in Catalina I believe. For what purpose do
you need to see the audio book file? With purchased audio books being synced
in the Cloud, you can download them from the store anytime. You can thus place
that book on any of your devices using the same Apple ID.

Hmm, that is interesting because it’s happening with all my Zoom meetings, no
matter the sender. I’m not this issue on any other calendar apps.

 Good morning everyone,

I have a few standing Zoom meetings on my calendar, but I am unable to
click on the link in the Calendar app on the Mac to get the meeting
started. Is this not possible through the app?

 Thanks,
 Minh

Hi,

Hmm. Interesting indeed. Check your own settings in Zoom to make sure that
you’re set to join with computer by default.
