Typed Character Echoes Twice?

Hi, list.

I am not sure of what I have done today inadvertently, but now whenever I
type something, each typed character is echoed twice and that, indeed,
sounds very annoying. How can I fix this, please?

Thanks for the link for the Reaper tutorials. I’ll check it out. I’ve never 
used the software before, I’m more familiar with ProTools. That’s cool you can 
use it on both Mac and windows. :-)

Re: Changing System Voice?

Hello,
The other thing to know about this is that the script first sees if it can send 
AppleEvents to VoiceOver, and if it can't then it will use the AppleScript 
command "say".
This can even be modified  be the command to specify a voice to use.
But if you want to use the VoiceOver voice , open VoiceOver Utility and in the 
General category check the box that says "Allow VoiceOver to be controlled with 
AppleScript."

vo-space opens the folder from the dock as a stack.  You can bring up the 
options menu for a folder in the dock to check if stack is enabled.  There are 
three stack options.  If fan is selected, you will need to interact with it to 
read the contents.

There is no ALT key on a Mac keyboard.
The correct keyboard command To open the  Downloads folder from the desktop is 
CMD  + OPT + L.

Hi,

Actually, “impossible” is a strong, and wrong assumption.  While cmd-option-l 
when at the Desktop is also my preferred mode, you can open this folder from 
the Dock.  When focused on the Downloads folder on your Dock, press VO-shift-m 
to bring up the Contextual menu for that Dock item, type o pe e n, or maybe 
even just o p and the Open choice will be presented.  Press return and the 
Downloads folder will open.

As far as I’m aware you cannot. Mine will  toggle between my VoiceOver voice 
and my announcement voice  which is separate. It randomly decides which it 
wants to use.

If you get an e-mail from me asking if I shop at Amazon, please DISREGARD it! 
I’ve had this happen to me from others before, and it is a scam. Delete that 
message, and don’t do anything with it!

Reading YouTube Heading By Character?

Hi, Group.

This morning, I was on Youtube and trying to read a heading by character. I
had my Quick Nav on.

I was able to read the heading by word with Option-left-right-arrows,
however, I could not read it by character with shift-right-arrow.

Is shift-right arrow not the command to read text by character?
