It doesn’t matter.  The same drive will work on either system.
Only thing to be aware of, is that a drive formatted as an NTSF drive, should 
be reformatted for best performance on a Mac.

   It helps to know there is only the one version, thanks. That is 
where I have trouble. I've tried to edit the speech rate there but the 
changes never stick. The rate I had in prior versions was 39.4 and is 
what is displayed. But I am unable to change this at all, like 39.2. I 
must be missing something. There is no save button, just an ok button.

Hi,

I do this using Quick Time and the Loop Back program from:

https://rogueamoeba.com/loopback/

This allows me to create what shows up as a Microphone that combines whatever 
microphone I’m using along with the sound from VoiceOver.  The program has been 
updated for Mac OS 13.

The link is there, but Apple Mail displays it as a titled link. You have to use 
your left and right arrow keys, but you cannot make any modification's.

Alex Voice

Hi all,
   Is there just one version of the Alex voice? If I trash it then go 
back and check the voices list there is Alex at 800 something mb. But it 
is not listed in the speech rotor. After I download it, its about 955mb. 
Still trying to fix its speaking rate. Thanks.

Well, I have noticed some quirky things with the apple mail app, which I use as 
well - for instance, when I auto fill an address, then send it - a message pops 
up saying there is no address when there actually is - so I click the button 
which says 'send anyway' and it goes without further problems. There are a few 
more things as well. So I don't know why the mail app will not accept a pasted 
link - perhaps at the next update this will be adjusted.

I am using the stock apple mail app on my Mac running Ventura.I don't see why things would be different if you are using a different mail client. How are you creating the link?  Are you running the Dropbox app on your Mac?
I am running the Dropbox app on my Mac running macOS Ventura, and created the 
below link with no issue.
I went to the Dropbox folder in Finder, which is located in my Home folder.  I 
put focus on the item I wanted to share, then opened the Shortcut menu, and 
selected the item "Copy Dropbox Link”, and heard a message from VoiceOver that 
the link had been copied to the clipboard.
I then pasted the link below.
This is the same sequence and behavior as with prior versions of macOS.

Hello,
One work around is to paste the link into a plain text document in TextEdit and 
then copy it into an email, message, or whatever you need. When you open 
TextEdit, press Command-Shift-T to toggle between rich and plain text and vice 
versa.
