 Any other suggestions?

IPhone will not let me bring new ringtones across from my Mac

2022-12-06 Thread Michael Marshall
hey all,
1000 times before, I have been able to bring m4r files onto the iPhone from my
mac.
When I tried to do it today, I got this interesting error:
“tone” was not copied to the iPhone “Mickies iPhone” because it cannot be
played on this iPhone.
Some files were not copied to the iPhone “Mickies iPhone” because they cannot
be played on this iPhone.

As you can imagine, apart from being deeply perplexing, it is incredibly
frustrating and I want this problem solved.
I enjoy making custom tones.
I followed all the current correct steps that I know of for the drag and drop
and I know it is correct, something strange is going on with iOS 16 and Ventura.

Apple servers getting bogged down

2022-12-06 Thread Phil Halton
Fairly often I get a situation where Siri cannot process requests such as
identifying a song, doing basic math calculations, or even just telling the
time. I am assuming that it is on Apple servers and that they must be getting
bogged down from heavy traffic. Is anyone else experiencing a situation where
Siri can’t handle requests and responds with “just a moment “, “still working
on that “, and finally “something went wrong, please try again later quote. as
I said, this happens with certain degree of regularity, two maybe three times a
week.

For me, it started with Apple II in the 1980s, then MS-DOS in the early
90s, then UNIX in the 90s (a Sun clone), followed by Linux - both at the
text console and later the graphical user interface as well. This was
followed by Android, iOS, and then Mac OS. I didn’t have any trouble
learning Mac OS, as I recall.
After that came Windows, learned “mostly on the job” in a work
environment, and some opportunities to experiment a little with Chrome OS
(but not to learn it properly).
My only conclusion is that having learned to use several different systems
already makes the next one easier to learn.

Hi Anders,

That’s funny. Personally, I kinda think Siri’s lost her mind since IOS 16. It
seems like she comes up with a lot of weird or unrelated responses lately.

The funny thing about her responding to silly, was that I wasn’t even trying to
engage her. I was actually talking to my cat. I said, “you’re silly,” and
Siri piped up and said, “mmm-h?” Cheers,
Donna

RE: A little humor to start your day

2022-12-06 Thread kriegler01
Donna, I like it. The next time Siri doesn't activate in the usual way, I'll
try that!
Best,

Les

Hi all,

In case you ever wondered, I have recently figured out that you can activate
Siri by saying “Hey sorry” or “Hey silly.” I rather like this since Siri
frequently fits either one or both of those words. Just thought I’d share.
Cheers,
Donna
