RE: Speech History Or Something Similar?

2022-12-28 Thread Fazil M.
Not really, but just curious when we say VO-Shift-c copies the last spoken
phrase, does it mean the whole logical and meaningful text spoken in one breath
or just a few words or one sentence?

I am asking this because when I paste the last spoken utterance, the text does
not contain what I want to hear.

Thanks!

Strange behavior with the latest Mac OSX.

2022-12-28 Thread Jessica Moss
I’ve been noticing lately since the latest update, that when typing within any
app/web page via Voiceover, when I type simple things like T’s/R’s, T’s being
the biggest culprit, they will suddenly type multiple times without me even
knowing it. This has just started since I updated, so that’s Gott me curious
if anyone else has experienced this.

Ring Update

2022-12-28 Thread sarai.bucciarelli
Hi all:

So for months the Ring app was broken with iOS 16 all builds. Worked fine in
15. Well Ring updated the app to 5.5.50 and iOS 16.2 works great with it.

So Yay I moved to iOS 16.2. Well looks like Ring is the only thing that
works. Gees. Voiceover rate is faster on a slower setting. Fine I can deal.
Siri sucks and won't respond the right way. Been there done that. Fine..
What I cannot deal with is when you make a call, put phone to your ear,
then pull it away, screen is black. You cannot end call, nor disable VO. Its
awful.

Re: editing videos made on Zoom

2022-12-28 Thread 'Janina Sajka' via MacVisionaries
Irfan,

I'm speculating that fade-in/fade-out over perhaps 200 ms would work
reasonably well, even for a person who doesn't see the results of the
video edit.

Extracting the audio and editing it is, as you say, another story. But,
I suspect most people who can see will want to have the video preserved.
So, I'm wondering whether my conjecture (above) has merrit. Would love
to find out! :)

Re: editing videos made on Zoom

2022-12-28 Thread 'Janina Sajka' via MacVisionaries
I'd also like to know this, whether Zoom or some other format such as
mp4, mkv, or webm.

It would be helpful if the editing app supported fade-in and fade-out
over splice points to make the result smoother visually and aurally.

Best,

Janina

Re: Mail Question: VO-J does not Read Email Message?

2022-12-28 Thread Raymond Foret Jr
I just use it like this. When I’m in the all inboxes selection, and I want to
read messages there, I just tab over to the message table and I’m there. I
should point out that I have preview set for five lines. I’m not talking about
the preview pain here. YOu get rid of the preview pain the way Herbe described
and it works like a charm. I also have my messages set so that they are in
assending order going down from the top and I did that in the view menu.
When I want to look at my sent folder, all I kneed to do is just
shift+tab over to the mail boxes table and arrow down to it then tab over right
in to it and I’m there. Want to get back to the all inbox selection? Just
shift+tab back to the mail box table and then up to the inbox then tab right
over.

I’m using the latest in Ventura and, to the best of my knowledge, not using the
classic view.
