Re: HTML question.

2023-10-03 Thread 'Jason J.G. White' via MacVisionaries
I would suggest using the W3C’s HTML validator. It should be available in an
extension for your preferred editor.
It’s also available in HomeBrew via the vnu package. You can then run it from a
MacOS terminal.

Hi,
I noticed a few errors.
First, the following two lines should be at the end of the document.

This represents the end of the code.

Second, your link should look like this.
http://www.google.com”> Google Web Page

I used Google as an example. The means line break.

Good luck!

2023-10-03 Thread Jessica Moss
I understand and appreciate that. However, this is as far as I’ve gotten so
far:

https://www.w3schools.com/html/html_basic.asp
HTML Basic
w3schools.com

And I’ve only gotten as far as “html links,” so unfortunately I don’t know
anything about where the code you sent me goes.

Looks good, except I notice you don't have any color codes. I wonder if that's

Re: Mac OS Sonoma: Calendar View Changed

2023-10-03 Thread 'Jason J.G. White' via MacVisionaries
Two suggestions:

  1. Lodge a support case with Apple.
  2. Try installing the latest MacOS public beta, and if you can reproduce the
problems, report them there.
Realistically, that’s all you can do. The software is not open-source. Only
Apple’s engineers can change it.

Hi,
this seems to be a new bug introduced in Sonoma. Let’s hope Apple won’t let us
wait for a whole aeyr to solve it.

I additionally experience VO jumps randomly out of a day with which I was

Has anyone an idea for a good and accessible calendar app to replace the nativ

Thanks and all the best

It seems to me that I can no longer navigate week-by-week in the month view of
the native calendar app.

I like to use VO table navigation keystrokes to move up/down through the
calendar, just like it is a grid or table. That allowed me to jump to the next
or previous day in another week.

Now I cannot get that grid to come back. All my navigation is strictly
vertical,, and if I want to jump to the next week, I need to arrow down through
all the days of the current week.
This behavior seems to be permanent in Sonoma OS, when in Ventura it was
sporadic.
Any tips for me?

HTML question.

2023-10-03 Thread Jessica Moss
I’m still in the process of learning HTML, which I’ve been attempting through
W3Schools, and have a document started that I’m slowly trying to build out in
text edit.
I’ve tested what I’ve attempted to write in VS code, which continuously says
“no problems,” and Codepen.io which tells me there are
missing tags, and the Href section needs double quotes, even after I’ve entered
them.
I’m still in the beginning stages of this, so to me, what I’m about to share

Re: Focus Issues since Sonoma Upgrade

2023-10-03 Thread 'Mary Ward' via MacVisionaries
Are you only having problems with editing or is it actual focus? I am finding
the changes to auto-correction to be very difficult to work with, even though
it is much more accurate than it was before. But this is both in iOS and Mac
OS. I don’t want to turn it off, of course, but sometimes I am tempting just
to get it to shut up.

Re: Focus Issues since Sonoma Upgrade

2023-10-03 Thread Suzanne Erb
Hello,
I’m on the phone with Apple Accessibility now. Apparently, someone else has
reported this issue. Someone thought I was referring to iOS, but they did
actually find a report of something similar happening on Sonoma. Apparently,
they are aware of the issue and are working in it.
I am on hold. If I learn anything, I’ll report back.
Cheers,
Suzanne

Did you check to see if cursor tracking was inadvertently disabled? If this
setting has not been turned off and you are continuing to experience issues
with cursor focus, I’d recommend backing up and resetting your VoiceOver
preferences to defaults to see if that resolves the problem.

Do all of the settings under VoiceOver -> Navigation seem correct?
I’m not having any focus issues, so, without a clue as to what it might be, I
can’t help any further. You may need to reset everything to defaults and
reinstall applications. I would suggest taking this up with Apple support
before making any drastic changes, though. They should be better at diagnosing
the problem than anyone on this list.

Focus Issues since Sonoma Upgrade

2023-10-03 Thread Suzanne Erb
Hello,
Ever since upgrading to Sonoma, I have been experiencing focus issues. I’ve
gone over my settings, and I don’t think I’ve made any drastic changes that
could account for this.
I can’t even write an e-mail without having to check it thoroughly. I do have
my trackpad turned off.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Best,
Suzanne Erb

Mac OS Sonoma: Calendar View Changed

2023-10-03 Thread Dave Carlson
It seems to me that I can no longer navigate week-by-week in the month view of
the native calendar app.

I like to use VO table navigation keystrokes to move up/down through the
calendar, just like it is a grid or table. That allowed me to jump to the next
or previous day in another week.

Now I cannot get that grid to come back. All my navigation is strictly
vertical,, and if I want to jump to the next week, I need to arrow down through
all the days of the current week.
This behavior seems to be permanent in Sonoma OS, when in Ventura it was
sporadic.
Any tips for me?
