RE: Is there a way to permanently disable optimized charging?
If you go into settings tap on battery health. I forget if battery health is just under settings or if you need to go into general. Anyway once you swipe to battery health tap on it and there will be an option to tap that will turn off optimization. Reviving an old iMac
I'm trying to revive myold iMac from around 2011 or so, I'm pretty sure it was running El Capitan. I'm locked out and can't log in because of a password logon failure even though the same password always worked and is the same that I've used on every mac i ever had. No matter, Now I'm trying to reinstall the OS from recovery mode but the El Capitan installer package is missing. I figure that I should be able to get the installer and put it on a USB stick and somehow reinstall from that. Can anyone help me with this and walk me through the basic steps and where I can get the installer package? I wasthinking of just junking the iMac, but it's still usable and now I really want to get this thing back and running if nothing more than for a novelty. Plus, I don't like not being able to do something until I've exhausted all options and possibilities. Please help with this if you can. Re: Login Keychain
No, this is not file vault. By default keychains on now in the cloud and then shared down to each machine. But since Apple is privacy counscious it does ntot keep a decryption key for the keychain. So, your new computer is asking for the password for one of your older computers in order to decrypt the keychain so you can use it to fill in application and web passwords. Re: Reading on Pages and Text Edit
Quick Look can also read a variety of file formats. When you want to edit, of course, you’ll need to use whichever editor you prefer. Try to open it in Safari and see how it reads there. Take CareJohn D. As I mentioned, in Text Edit, I am not being able to read paragraph by paragraph. When Voiceover moves to a new page, it reads the first paragraph character by character. The subsequent paragraphs are read properly, and then once again after a page break, I encounter the same problem. I have tried all possible options, with quick nav on and off, as well as keyboard commanders. On Thursday, January 25, 2024 at 5:12:10 PM UTC thepian...@gmail.com wrote:For things of that length I usually convert to text and read in TextEdit. These files take a lot of time loading on Mac when I open them on Word. With Pages and Text Edit, I am facing a strange problem. I prefer to read paragraph by paragraph. But whenever Voiceover encounters a page break, it starts reading character by character.I have taking this issue to Apple Accessibility and they have not been able to help.My Word documents are 300 to 400 pages long. Can anyone please advise?Thanks,Moiz.-- The following information is important for all members of the Mac Visionaries list.
