Re: Photos on iPhone

2024-06-23 Thread Gabe Griffith
Hi,

The way I identify photos is to go to my share button and share with either
Seeing AI or Be My Eyés if you have either of those. They do a very good job of
giving a fairly decent description. You can even ask more questions about the
picture if you want to know more about something it describes.

It has been a bit since I used Outlook on the Mac. I just tried it again today
and am finding that as I arrow up and down the message list, messages that gain
focus are frequently not being reae. Is anyone else finding this?

Re: How to create a link to share a file in iCloud drive

2024-06-23 Thread Earle
iCloud definitely has this feature. I use it quite a bit. I do it from my
iPhone or iPad, so I can't give instructions on how to do it from the Mac.

2024-06-23 Thread 'Donna Goodin' via MacVisionaries
Hmm. I just tried it. I sent the file to my email. It said open my shared
image, but there was no link.

I finally got the file shared using Dropbox, but It’s too bad iCloud doesn’t
have that feature. It’s not something I need often, butt boy is it handy when
I do.

Re: How to create a link to share a file in iCloud drive

2024-06-23 Thread Ian Robinson
Hi Donna,

When you open the file you wish to share, which app does it open in?

I’ve just experimented with a .jpg file. It opened in Preview. When I go to the
File menu and choose Share, the first option is iCloud Sharing, which did
include an option to share a link.

I’ve no idea why the share link doesn’t show up in the Finder context menu.
Perhaps it is a bug.

Ian

Same thing as trying to share a file. When you select share, you get
everything under the sun except the option to access the folder via a created

Hi Jonathan,

I knew about that shortcut option, but as I understand it, it just creates the
shortcut. I was curious about how Mark got the icon on his home screen.
