Re: How do i get rid of the preview pane in Mail?
I think our reason is to avoid marking a message as read just by moving over them without opening them. This happens when preview pane is turned on. I, for one, can't get this thing turned off and it is one of the more annoying issues I have with Mail and VoiceOver on the Mac. Daniel Den 05-10-2014 kl. 06:59 skrev M. Taylor: Hello Krister, Not to appear provocative but I am curious as to why you want to "get rid of" the preview pane in mail? You are not alone, many, many people choose to do so but I do not know why. In fact, were it not for this, the best Mac application I've ever used, there would be no way I could subscribe to so many mailing lists and hope to manage them all. As I said, I'm just curious. Question: How to get to mail tokens
Hi, In Mail 7.2 (OS 10.9.2), is there a way to get to the search tokens / terms when in the search box to look for messages (Cmd+options+f)? While typing in the search field, I can up and down arrow among suggestions, but I think I can also specify whether to look in any particular field. I have come across this by accident but can't figure out how to reliably get back to it using the keyboard. Thanks for any input on how to search in Mail. Re: Manually updating iWorks programs in Mavericks
Hi, Here is how I got the problem solved: I switched the interface language of the OS to English and rebooted. I then ran System Updates and got the updates delivered through the system update method. That is: Pages, Numbers , and Keynote were all updated via the app stor when I had the interface language set to English instead of Danish. I then set the interface language back to Danish and rebooted, and that's it. All this after an idea from Apple Support. Hope someone out there finds this bit of info useful. Software update fails on MacBook
Hello, Well, this is not strictly related to accessibility, but hope this doesn't become too off-topic anyway. Controlling language on IPod Touch
Hi, Is it possible to control when VoiceOver should change language while reading text? VoiceOver tries to make out what tts to use to read certain portions of text. I believe it is determined by the language HML-tag. However, I have a Danish app with recipes which reads nicely except for the fact that the text is read out using the English voice even though it is in Danish and thus should be read using the Danish voice on the IPod Touch. Which best -- OpenOffice or IWork?
Hi, I am still looking for a suitable office application for the Mac. So, has anyone tried the latest OpenOffice.org builds for the Mac in comparison with iWork? IWork is definitely accessible, but I am still a bit reluctant about spending 90 dollars on an office application that I will only be using occasionally. So, any opinions? Jumping to beginning or end of list of e-mails
Hi, I have the feeling that I'm missing the obvious here, but I can't find any mention of it on this list. How does one quickly jump to the buttom or to the top of the list of messages in Apple Mail? There sure must be a keystroke to accomplish this. Thanks so much in advance. Spelling buttons without interacting
Hi, Apparently, some buttons can't be interacted with e.g. in ITunes. I therefore wonder how to go over the text of the button letter by letter instead of just doing the vo+w command for spelling the word. I think this issue also applies to other elements. What they all have in common is that they can't be interacted with. Anyone got any thoughts on this? Inserting headings using Iworks Pages
Hi, I just downloaded the trial version of IWorks and it looks promising. I just can't figure out where I can insert headings in the Pages application, so if someone could point me in the right direction I would appreciate it. Thanks in advance. Transferring files from Mac to Braille device
Hi, I am using the handy Tech Braille Wave as a display under SL. does anybody know if it is possible to transfer files to the Braille device either via Bluetooth or via USB? HT has a Linux (.rpm) version of their communication program available, but i don't know how to run such packages under MacOSX. So, any feedback would be greatly appreciated. SV: questions
Hi May, As to your question about DVD regions: Google your part of the world and put "DVD region" or something similar in as well, and you should get the correct code. I do have one installed called adiumx but I can't get it to read me messages if I miss them or get it to show the right sign in name for me, lol. 2. I went skydiving today and have a dvd from my awesome adventure and when I put it in my mac the dvd set up page came up and asked about regions, what do I put there? 3. Can someone please tell me how I can get my IPhone to sync with my mac and stop erasing everything. I want all the contacts, apps and such that are on the IPhone to stay there when I plug the IPhone to the mac, but that's just not working and I'm ready to pull all my hair out, lol. VO+f8 doesn't work after upgrade to SnowLeopard
Hi, Well, the subject says it all. Nothing happens when I press VO+f8. Is it possible in SL to reassign the key combination VO+f8 to start VoiceOver, or do I need to make a clean install? I did an upgrade install. Thanks in advance. Daniel --~--~-~--~~~---~--~~ You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "MacVisionaries" group. Hi Anne, No, I haven't tried iWorks since I heard there were quite a few accessibility issues still. However, that program might be my first purchase once I get my SnowLeopard up and running. A couple of word processor queries
Hi, Has anyone had success using spell check in OpenOffice? I haven't figured out how to navigate around this function. I am wanting to do some more advanced word processing like headings, so I have been looking at OpenOffice as a first alternative.
