Yep my friend had the same problem when she bought her mac the guy at the shop told her to buy microsoft office for mac odvesly he did not know that it would not be accessable with voice over so luckely me and her spoke to a more experianced mac user before she'd installed it and she was able to change to iworks. I just use text eddit at the moment as i only need basic word prosessing at the moment but will probly get iworks later on in my mac usage. I have to say i am really happy with it all i have to do now is learn how to use it properly now as all i have really done so far is record tracks but not done anything with them. Yep i have to say i have found this very interesting. It's also interesting to get diffrent peoples take on both opperating systems as i feel they are both useful in there own ways. Hello all i have only been a mac user for just over a month and i have to say i can see neels point. I have to say it would be good if they could create a way where like jaws the option key could become like a windows key and take you in to all the menues that way and give the controle key some of the commands that you would need voice over keys for. although i have got use to the voice over keys it is slightly anoying to have to hold them down just to move around a web sight. forinstance if you are highlighted on a check box with jaws all you have to do is press space bar how ever if you are on with voice over you have to hold them two keys down before pressing space. How ever as i said to a friend of mine on the phone the other week i do not regret making the switch to the mac and do find it in a lot of ways better to use than windows. it would just be nice if they could modify voice over a bit to make it easyer to use. sorry if this has been a bit of a ramble hope that people understand what i am getting at. Yep i agree with every thing said i have only been a mac user for about a month and i have to say i am glad i made the switch over. I have found the basics of the mac a lot easyer than i found windows when i first started learning it in 2001. As i am a quick learner i did not really have a problem diving in plus a friend of mine was at my house when i got the mac so he did all the basic set up for me. i have to say since having the mac i have found it a lot more iffissiant for doing basic things and i do not have the crashes i some times have with windows. I do how ever think that if he does go for a mac then using voice over along with the magnification tools that he needs might be a good idear. hi all just to let you all know i now am the proud owner of a new eye mac computer. i have to say from first impressions i am really pleased with it. getting use to voice over really easy and navigating things i need to. i know it is going to be a steep learning curve for me but i feel i am making good headway at the momment. i am happy to be a member of the mac squad as my friends call it.
