i use vivaldi, i even have seamonkey and firefox on elcpatian, no issues at 
all.
did you clean cache, create another profile in the browser ? 
make sure you have firewall , i use lulu 
also check your /etc/hosts file, you can put ip to block
ofcourse you have ad blocker extension in the browser

i use mccontacts app on phone,it exports and saves as vcf zip then use 
documens(by readdle) to ftp to pc/laptop, then i copy to ssd/usb key, no 
cloud needed

catalina disable apps. need free/opensource alternative

catalina had disabled the following therefore looking for alternatives

audacity: recording radio and tapes to mp3 , i just use the audio INPUT, or 
ocenaudio but it don't seem to pick micinput(next to theheadphone icon)

filezilla- ftp
picasa , gimp is to cluttered
virtual box, needto run windows for work
freefile synch

duckcapture- something similar to greenshot, or  snippy tool, fast stone 
caputre , (annotation highlights), scrolling

when you fill in  then  print-to-pdf, it will save  , give it a DIFFERENT 
name ,something such as iniitals and date, ,but it won't be editable 
anylonger

does the usb/stick flash when you plugin,  did you try different ports. are 
you taking note of the items in the finder eg cd. did you reboot, did youu 
try a usb/stick that you used already to confirm port isusable? is it your 
usb or friend and if friend do you know if they formated for windows or mac

go to terminal /console under applications /utilities in finder
type ds, see how much space you have

type 'top' see which apps are running how much ram they are using , remove 
the apps you no longer use

type 'ps -aux' to see the full path of the applications currently running, 
see any that not know what they are, look them up on gole and remove them 
if no longer needed

check your starup entries removed only requried , under settings  -> 
user/userggroups,  click on 'login items' uncheck those you don't need , it 
wont install it just wont open at login/startuup you can alway recheck

also go to activity monitor in applications/utilites and see if there
any errors listed. Delete apps that causing error that yuu no longer need

turn off cloud sync to make sure is not the size of date transfer slowing 
machine, limit to only critical info ,although wount save bank and health 
records on cloud, better an extrnal hardrive indepent of os and vendor

remove apps you dont need use  'disk utility' in applications/utility' and 
display
