 Hi all,

I'm trying to update Adobe flash player, but am having trouble getting the
mouse over to the Install button. Does anyone know if there's a way to
route the mouse to the item under keyboard focus? Lacking that option,
anyone have any other thoughts about how to accomplish this? I've tried
moving the mouse with the trackpad, but that hasn't worked well.
 TIA,

Facebook on IOS update

2012-08-23 Thread Wes Smith
WOW!
It's completely accessible, at least from what I've seen so far…all buttons are
labeled, friend requests, ETC ETC….you can comment, like on all posts…just tap
(or in our case double tap), on the post you want to comment on or like.
The newsfeed starts below the "status" button….the status button is used to
update your status.
Hope this helps you, it certainly looks to be very usable now….the only thing
is….IT NEEDS TO STAY THAT WAY

WHat I do is type in my status or comment with VO off….get to the combo
box…it's not a combo box…it's really an edit box but vo recognizes it as a
combo box…then turn vo off and type…..or also what I do for a work around is to
type what I want in text edit, copy it, then paste it wherever, EG status or
comment.

 Hi Søren,

No, I've never had a MacBook larger than 13 inches. And I've never typed
more than occasionally on desktop Macs, so I haven't experienced these
issues. This sounds like the issues are screen-resolution/size specific.
I wonder whether anyone else with the larger Mac laptops can report on
their experiences with Safari. I do note that the major reason I've found
to delay upgrades between major releases of Mac OS X is usually the new
behavior of Safari. Also, the first system versions after a new release
may show up more VoiceOver focus issues than previously experienced in
 mature, stable releases.

Thanks for reporting on your experience.

 Best,

Macbook Pro VS. Macbook Air.

2011-03-07 Thread Wes Smith
So I'm trying to decide between a Macbook Pro, or a Macbook AIr. I would get a
educational discount (I'm in college.) I looked at the specs, and they both
look good. Though, the MAcbook Air is only flash, and it's biggest is 128 gig
I think. While the Macbook pro has a 500 gig HD (I wouldn't need that, just
320 gigs.) And, the Macbook Pro solid state, and it has a superdrive, while
the Macbook AIr doesn't. I don't really care about the weight and how thin

Re: Verizon to Drop Unlimited iPhone Data Plans as Soon as This Summer

2011-03-03 Thread Wes Smith

Oops.
Hit send to quick. LOL. Let's try that again.
Can we learn how to use commas, and please spell check, and capitalize
sentences? Please? I mean, come on people! It isn't anything new, is it?
I just get really irritated when I have to think about if it's in some other
language before realizing it's a bashed form of English someone created. Geeze
people. Sorry, I just had to vent.

Re: Emoticons with VO pronunciation

2011-02-12 Thread Wes Smith
No, I was able to read each character, and I entered it right. There is no
other :D symbol or anything. The only thing I can think of, is that it's some
sort of weird bug. I can't do <3 for love or heart either. I emailed the
Apple people, told them my situation, asked them what was going on. It just
bugs the heck outta me when I'm trying to read a Facebook post, and someone's
used emoticonswhich is quite frequent with my friends and I. Maybe someone
else has a suggestion.

Emoticons with VO pronunciation

2011-02-11 Thread Wes Smith
Hi,
I've been trying to add some emoticons in the VO pronunciation dictionary. But
it's not working. For example, I do :D (Collin D), for a laughing face. I put
:D in the first box, then "laughingface", in the second. And all Apps is
checked. I even hit enter. Is there something I'm missing? Can someone try
it out and tell me if there is something that I am missing? Thanks. BTW, if I
put names in there, and sub it with the correct pronunciation, it works.

Nope. I understand that piece to the puzzle. Its really not a piece at
all in my opinion. I don't think the iPhone 5 will have 4 g anyway. And
if it did, what your saying is still a weak position I think. For
example, Lets say you buy an iPhone 4 on VZ. The iPhone 5 comes out in
June, and it happens to have LTE. Its ok because there is no coverage in
your area. Cool. Your not missing anything. But what if your area has
LTE in September? Or October? You will still have your 3g iPhone 4.
Verizon would really start rolling out LTE at a blistering pace if the
iPhone 5 was a LTE handset. But of course, there is a lot of if and buts
in there. lol. I was just referring to people who would not have bought
an iPhone 4 on verizon now plunking down the cash just to have unlimited
 data.

Re: How to add apps to the doc

2011-01-21 Thread Wes Smith
When the app is open, go to the doc, find the app CTRL+click if you have a
mouse (this is what I do), or, VO+SHFT+M, and go to options, then hit enter on
"keep in doc."
Also, you can go to the app in your apps folder, and when the app is
highlighted, do a SHFT+CMD+T. That will add it to the doc, without it being
open.

MP3 Tag Editors

2011-01-21 Thread Wes Smith
Hey.
I was using MP3 Tag on the PC side which allowed me to convert the name of the
file to the actual tag names. It also looked on Amazon and a bunch of other
databases. Is there something like this for Mac? I have some MP3's and albums
that aren't tagged correctly. And because I use iTunes, I need everything in
order. Course, I could edit it by hand, but I WILL N.O.T, do that! Lol. WHen

Re: Unchecking Items On iTunes

2010-12-19 Thread Wes Smith
Hey Ezzy,
What you do is this.
First, I think you have to have "manually manage music" checked. I dunno,
check it anyway though, cause it makes it easier to add/delete stuff. You can
add/delete stuff by just pasting stuff you copy to the clipboard to your device
in the source list. Deleting is the same, expand it, down arrow once, you'll
hit music, go to the music table and hit your delete key on whatever song(S),
you want. Anyway, If you want to uncheck specific songs, go to your phone in
the sources table. It will say "device collapsed.", then hit your right arrow
and it will expand. Then hit your down arrow. You will hear it say music.
Then, go to the music table (CMD+VO+T), then interact with the table, then hit
VO+Right arrow, and there should be a checkbox. Uncheck it by hitting
VO+space. That unchecks the specific song. DO this for every song(S) you want
to uncheck. HTH,
Wes. .

Re: Itunes "sound enhancer," in prefs

It sort of gives the audio a more spacial effect, enhances the reverb
if there is any, and yes, it works on CD quality tracks. But in order
to use it fully, you got to move the slider all the way to 100% Then,
turn it off and on and see the difference. I keep mine on all the
time at 100% I like it that way. Never turn it off. HTH,

Ok..I have no clue what you did but OKlol:)anyway, this is what
you do to reset all settings in Voiceover.
Bring up the Voiceover utility (VO-f8 or FN+VO+f8 if you don't have your keys
set to standard.) Then, go to the menu bar (CTRL+f2) then, file, then "reset
all Voiceover preferences. HTH,
