Generally, WWDC never announces new hardware, it is all about the software. The primary exception is when a completely new architecture like what happened last year. Even then the hardware announced was specifically aimed at developers and was leased to developers, not sold. I think too Apple is facing chip shortages as are most other companies and may just not be able to deliver the quantity they would want. The other factor may be that they are just not ready to update the 16 model quite yet as that group are heavy profetionals and they maybe trying to get a even more powerful chip. This is why listening to rumors is okay but should be taken with a grain of sault. -Original Message- From: macvisionaries@googlegroups.com On Behalf Of Kevin Gibbs Sent: Monday, June 7, 2021 5:13 PM To: macvisionaries@googlegroups.com macvisionaries@googlegroups.com Subject: Any thoughts on the future of MacBook Pros in light of this WWDC? Re: Any thoughts on the future of MacBook Pros in light of this WWDC?
Hi Kevin, For your general information, WWDC stands for World wide Developers conference. Therefore, the primary focus at WEDC is usually on software, not hardware. That being said, there have been a few instances when hardware was introduced at WWDC. Just because I love to share useless information along with more beneficial info, the last few hardware items introduced at WWDC have since been discontinued. That is, the full-size HomePod, the iMac Pro and the 10.5” iPad Pro. Basically, that means nothing other than bad luck, although superstitious people may think otherwise. All that being said, the MacBook Pro is here to stay for quite a while in my opinion. If you can afford it, it’s a wonderful machine. Re: Any thoughts on the future of MacBook Pros in light of this WWDC?
Good afternoon, the only thing about this morning's presentation that very much concerns me is that it appears that Mac OS Monterey it's very much going to be designed for the M1 chip. This means that if one Hans a Machine based on the Intel chip that things might not work as intended in the beginning. In other words if it's the match that's clearly going to be designed for the new processor. If one is running the owner processor there may be some challenges. My largest concern however yes how are they going to implement directional sound to match up with hearing aids didn't use that directional information. Because right now hearing aid accessibility definitely has something to be desired. I am curious to see how while this new feature Will help, or hinder those of us who we are, and must use hearing aids? The other thing is I thought I read somewhere, that's safari may get some accessibility improvements. Again Proof must be in the pudding. Another words beta testing buy blame people this year ABC critical. And I certainly will a very much involved in this endeavor because of being deafblind, and also having a written expression disorder," dyslexia of writing”. These are just my thoughts. I hope everyone House OK Great rust of the day. Maurice mines. PS I have beta tested either the phone, or my MacBook or at least the last five or six years. One thing I will never do after last year's fiasco, it's better test new version of watchOS and less Apple pleasures in writing do not remove voiceover from any better. Finally whenever I mention that I am a braille user I get the constant comment but we don't no very many people who use braille. My only thought here is how do they think we read and write? Just some food for thought. Considering that an education and outside of education they still think that less than 20% of us actually read and/or right, are used braille.
