The Series 3 is definitely a worth-while update form a Series 0.
Congratulations.

Raise to Speak is tricky at best, I've found. The motion seems to be a very
deliberate raising of the arm until the Watch is just in front of the mouth,
but even that doesn't always work. I find that Hey Siri works just fine,
though, so I don't really worry about Raise to Speak much. It would be cool to
have, but saving myself three syllables doesn't seem worth the bother the
feature is to get working.

What are the best settings for the wake screen?

Raise to speak siri only works some of the time. Are there any tricks to

Re: Apple Watch - wake screen and siri

2018-12-09 Thread Chris Moore
Hello,
What I’ve discovered is you need a special motion to activate siri. First, you
raise your arm in front of you almost to mouth level keeping your elbow
straight. Then you turn your wrist toward your mouth while you move the watch
in that direction. Think of it as raising the watch out and over to your
mouth. Raising the watch directly toward your mouth doesn’t work. My wife who
is sighted had difficulty until I showed her the technique.
I think you’ll like it once you learn the correct motion. Also, it is easier
when you are standing starting with the watch down by your side.
