Re: Changing languages with a bluetooth keyboard
It's quite easy on the Mac. What I do is, Open your menu extras with control F8 or Vieux M twice, and then locate the menu that's going to lease first Lee said the language is currently under. For example, mine says US. Then, either type in the first few letters of the language you want to go to, or aerobe down through the menu. Then, either hit VO space or enter, and it will change the language. If you want to get back to the Lynnwood you were in, I changed the keystrokes to say option space and option shift space. Otherwise, you're going to run into a conflict with the spotlight search. It's easy enough in iOS with the touch screen. You just go down to the button that says next keyboard. You double tap on it, and/or hold. > On Feb 25, 2016, at 09:59, Seyoon Choi wrote: > > The only trouble though is that this will change the voice language, a > language in which Voiceover speaks in. The only trouble though is that this will change the voice language, a language in which Voiceover speaks in. I can’t seem to figure out how to change the language input settings, such as when you type letter S for example. I would like to type in a different language and easily able to switch. Re: Changing languages with a bluetooth keyboard
Hello Ben, I’m not sure what the make and model of my keyboard is, but it is bluetooth, and I bought it from the Apple store. Like you, I work in a multilingual environment. I also regularly use my bluetooth keyboard to switch input and output languages on my iPhone 6. What you need to do is make sure that you have enabled the switch language feature in your Voice Over rotor options. Then, on your bluetooth keyboard, simultaneously press the left and right arrow keys until you hear Voice Over say “Quick Nav on.” This is a toggle command. If, after simultaneously pressing these two keys, VO says “Quick Nav Off,” just press them again, and VO will let you know that Quick Nav is on. Once Quick Nav is on, you can go through your Voice Over rotor options by simultaneously pressing the up arrow and left arrow to select your previous rotor option or the up arrow and right arrow to select your next rotor option. When you get to the language option, press either the up arrow or down arrow to select the language you want. When you get to that language, just move to a different rotor option, and your new language will take effect. You don’t need to hit enter or anything else in order to confirm your language selection. Let me know if you have any problems. Best regards from Austria, Mike > On 20,Feb,2016, at 23:13, ben J. Yes, that I can do. it's just that getting to the on-screen keyboard with the Bluetooth keyboard enabled is a bit tricky. Being that Cmd+space invokes the spotlight, I've changed it to option+space and option+shift+space. Honestly, on the mac, I use the menu more than I use the keystroke. On iOS, there is no such menu as per my experience. Re: Changing languages with a bluetooth keyboard
Hello Ben, I don’t know whether this works, but have you tried the left and up arrows together to go through the rotor options, then when you land on Language, use the up or down arrow. Try Command control space and see if that gets you anywhere. Changing languages with a bluetooth keyboard
Hello List, I just bought an Apple Magic Keyboard today, and I'm loving it. I've got a question though. As a major linguaphile, changing languages is essential. I know how to do it generally within iOS, but how does one do so with the Bluetooth keyboard. I tried to do it with cmd+space and option+space, but it's not working. Thanks, Ben -- The following information is important for all members of the Mac Visionaries list.
