Re: Choosing a mail folder in Microsoft Outlook for Mac

2018-04-05 Thread Jonathan Cohn
Yes, I sorta noticed that but have ignored the issue hoping it would eventually
go away. There is a way to give feedback and this would be a good issue to
provide issues to Microsoft.

I have sometimes found that I can type in the folder list, but as soon as the
folder changes focus / VoiceOver moves to the message list. Also, there is some
inconsistency with expand/colaspe sub-folders and a unlabeled icon with each
folder name.

I will say there has been some improvements in Outlook in the last six months
though in terms of its interactions with VoiceOver. I guess I am a little wary
of submitting bug reports to Microsoft because I am running an older Operating
System but the fast insider build of MS Office.

Choosing a mail folder in Microsoft Outlook for Mac

2018-04-04 Thread 'Jason White' via MacVisionaries
One of my accounts needs to be accessed via Microsoft Outlook (i.e., the
Exchange support in Apple Mail won't work with it).

Fortunately, Microsoft Outlook 2016 for Mac is quite accessible. I notice,
however, that some functions are tedious to perform via the keyboard. A good
example is selecting a folder from a list. I can use Ctrl-Option-Up/Down-Arrow
keys to get there, but typing letters when VO is focusing on the list
doesn't work. Nor does Item Chooser - it tries to retrieve a long list of
items and never completes building its menu.

Is there another, more efficient way to choose folders in Outlook for Mac?

Of course, I can always use the Windows version, but that isn't the point for
purposes of the current discussion.
