Hi Karen,

Thank you for suggesting the RoboBraille email conversion service. I’ve just
used it on a pdf file and, so far, the text file seems really good.

thanks.

Re: Convert PDF to txt on iPhone or iPad?

2024-05-14 Thread Karen Lewellen

Hi Donna,
Speaking personally, rtf or txt will fair better.
That is likely because of the different flavors of word, and the goal of
robobraille to get items to the simplest format.

Hope that resonates,
Karen

Hi Donna,

Do you by any chance have Voice Dream Reader? If so, you may be able to use it
to export the text.

Open the pdf file in VDR, then go to the Document menu and choose “Export All
Text”
>From the Share Sheet, choose “Save to Files”.

How readable the text version is might depend on how the original version was
created, but it is worth a try.

Convert PDF to txt on iPhone or iPad?

2024-05-14 Thread 'Donna Goodin' via MacVisionaries
Hi all,

While I’m in Italy, I’ll be taking language classes. I may have a need to
convert pdfs to text, and I’m hoping to do it on either my phone or my iPad.
Anyone have a recommendation for an app that will do this? I know ABBYY will,
but it seems kind of like overkill.
Cheers,
Donna
