Seting or checking project length in garageband question
Hi, How can I check the project length and change it if necessary before sharing to itunes? Also, is there a quick way to find out where the play head is? I could go to lcd and interact with time line group but seams awkward. Thans, Ioana Please check out my cd on www.ioanagandrabur.com on iTunes and most online stores. -- You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups MacVisionaries group. Re: Seting or checking project length in garageband question
the playhead and song/project end positions are available, and are both edittable, in the Layout area/Timeline group/multiple indicators ruler. The ruler is just to the left of the timeline grid button and the instrument tracks scroll area. Just interact with either the playhead or song end value indicators and adjust their values with the VO arrow keys (probably the option arrow keys too). I think the amount of adjustment is controlled alot by your zoom level. With a higher zoom, you can nudge the pointers by as little as 60 ticks.(1/64th note) GB uses a 960 PPQ (parts per quarter note), so quarter notes, or beats, are 960 ticks. Then it breaks the quarter beats into four divisions - each of which is 240 ticks. a division is equivalent to a 16th note. As the zoom level goes up, each nudge of the playhead with the vo arrow keys will move in smaller increments like 120 ticks (32nd note), and finally by 60 ticks (64th note). So, depending on the zoom, when you press VO right arrow, you might hear division 1, division 3 etc which means it's moving by eighth notes (each division is a 16th note). Or, Division 1, tick 1, division 1, tick 120, division 2, tick 1, division 2, tick 120, in which case its moving by 32nd notes. So, you can really zero in on a small area of the timeline this way and split and edit at a fairly fine level. - Original Message - From: Ioana Gandrabur To: MacVisionaries Sent: Thursday, December 20, 2012 2:58 PM Subject: Seting or checking project length in garageband question Hi, How can I check the project length and change it if necessary before sharing to itunes? Garageband question, selecting audio.
Hello guys. I started playing with Garageband recently, and I am very pleased so far. I have some questions, you may want to help with. How do I select audio or midi data for manipulation? Copy, delete etc? Say I have a voice track, and I am recording. 1, 2, 3, 4, 5. If I want to delete the 1, 2, and keep the remaining data, How do I do that from the keyboard? Also, is it possible to tel the recording level of a mike or other input? I know I am sending audio to the computer because I can play it back, but the recording slider is always deemed and 0. I hope that you can help with this. I know that I will have more questions later, for sure. smile Later.
