Re: Getting rid of the confirmation message when deleting a conversation in the messages app
I think this started with IOS 11, no way that I know of to get rid of it. Original message: It seems to me that are used to have my Messages app set such that if I hit delete on a message or a message conversation, it would go away without asking me if I wanted to delete it. Maybe I’m just miss remembering. That changed at some point, not with iOS 12 however. I would like to stop this behavior. I want to have the conversation go away without the confirmation being necessary. I looked in settings for Messages, and I don’t see that choice in there. Is it somewhere else? Or is it just not possible? Mary Sent from my iPhone -- The following information is important for all members of the Mac Visionaries list. Re: Getting rid of the confirmation message when deleting a conversation in the messages app
There is the possibility of using edit mode to select multiple conversations and then delete. That at least adds some flexibility. I think it is a conspiracy to make us use more memory and therefore buy bigger phones (just joking). I believe there is also a way to have conversations timeout and self delete. Re: Getting rid of the confirmation message when deleting a conversation in the messages app
Tim is correct. Once a message, or conversation, is deleted, because it is encrypted, there are no backups or delete folders. So, once deleted, there is no possibility of recovering the message or conversation. There were enough complaints by people who accidentally deleted messages or conversations that this confirmation has become necessary. Hi, It's just not possible. With Messages in the Cloud and such, the "confirmation" question is considered necessary. Later...
