Re: Magic jack with mac and vo

2010-01-21 Thread Michael Busboom
Hello Dan,

Since I live outside the States, the place where I grew up, I immediately
jumped on the opportunity to avail myself of the very inexpensive phone rates
that Magic Jack offers. During a visit to my parents in Illinois, I bought the
unit from a Radio Shack store and have never regretted making the purchase.
The device connects to a computer via a USB port. I regularly use the same
Magic Jack unit with both my PC and Mac Book running Snow Leopard.

Whether you use a PC or a Mac, the software is disappointing at best. However,
in my opinion, it is easy enough to use the Mac with Magic Jack, provided you
can live without the program's address book and caller log. I was able to hook
it up to my Mac and immediately start making and receiving calls. In no way do
I regret making the purchase.

Kindest regards from Austria,

Mike

The last time I tried it, it was just about useless. I thought, what can I
use besides Skype on there as well, not going to be MJ though.

Have any mac and/or vo users had experience and what advice?

Does the software for the mac work with vo?

Any compatibility problems with a mac, an imac with intel cpu.

Thanks,

Dan
