Re: Microsoft outlook on the Mac

2020-07-05 Thread 'Jason White' via MacVisionaries
If you have a choice, then I suppose it’s largely a matter of preference.
Microsoft Outlook doesn’t just support email; it offers calendar, contacts, and
other features as well. Consequently, it should probably be compared with the
combination of Apple Mail/Calendar/Contacts.

Also, it is my understanding that some accounts absolutely require Microsoft
Outlook, rather than Apple’s Exchange support.

1. Create a new message.
2. Wait for VoiceOver to say Outlook has a new window.

4. Move VO backwards to always present text (contacts and recent address or
something similar.
5. Press VO-Shift and a number key. VO will say Saved as Hot Spot number.
A. The next time you need to review the list of completions press VO-Number and
VoiceOver will read the first completion available.

Note, I use the insider build of Outlook, but this should work on production

I will get into the feedback center and post something on Monday asking that

Also, once the new window is presented, you can often simply press the tab key
from within the text entry field to complete the name and email address. I
assume it takes the first entry that matches the partially typed name or
address. Very often, this is exactly what I want, so it’s a quick operation.

RE: Microsoft outlook on the Mac

2020-07-01 Thread hermanfermin
Please share this feedback with Microsoft Outlook. The auto-completion works
fine in Apple Mail and in Spotlight. Although accessibility for Outlook on the
Mac has come a long way, this is one particular area where it is really
lacking. Especially when as a keyboard only user, you do not have to jump to a
completely different window in order to get to your choices/options to fill in.
A keyboard only user just arrows up and down to get those choices and hits
enter on the one that is desired.

That would be a fab script if you could make it happen I have just started
using outlook as it is useful to schedule teams meetings where you are inviting
others as it puts the link straight in to the invite but it is a little clunky
to keep switching windows when adding multiple recipients to messages etc

Hi Petrus,

I can’t honestly say,

I’ve only ever hit enter as a hang up from the windows world.

I assume it will ddo the same thing.

Hi Simon and Nancy,
I know with the native mail app one needs to press VO space bar once the
desired person comes up while your arrowing down the list of contacts after
typing the first couple of letters, pressing enter doesn’t work. Is this
different with Outlook?

hi everyone,
I have been partially sighted for the past several years. I have to switch to
complete voice over now because of a surgery I cannot see at all. I am using
voice over with Microsoft outlook on the Mac. When I type a name into the two
column, I can’t figure out how to get to the options. In other words if I type
an email to Doe and I want to click on John Doe, how do I do that using

That would be a fab script if you could make it happen I have just started
using outlook as it is useful to schedule teams meetings where you are inviting
others as it puts the link straight in to the invite but it is a little clunky
to keep switching windows when adding multiple recipients to messages etc

Re: Microsoft outlook on the Mac

2020-06-30 Thread Jonathan Cohn
Hello,
The name completion for Outlook uses a separate window, the window is
accessible, but might vanish if you use command-accent to sswitch to it, not
sure because I stopped trying several versions ago. What I do, is type the
first few characters of who I am sending the message to wait a second for
VoiceOver to say Outlook has a new window. I then bring up a window list
numpad-/ if you are using numpad commander, twofinger tab on right of touch pad
if using touchpad commander, or VO-F2 twice. You can then type in “co” and will
find the only selection is contacts. select that and in this window is a list
of completions.
If you beg me to, I could look to see if a AppleScript could make this easier.

Microsoft outlook on the Mac

2020-06-30 Thread 'Nancy Badger' via MacVisionaries
hi everyone,
I have been partially sighted for the past several years. I have to switch to
complete voice over now because of a surgery I cannot see at all. I am using
voice over with Microsoft outlook on the Mac. When I type a name into the two
column, I can’t figure out how to get to the options. In other words if I type
an email to Doe and I want to click on John Doe, how do I do that using
voiceover? Also if anyone has a list of keyboard commands for Microsoft outlook
I would be very appreciative.
Thanks so much!
Nancy
