Hi,

No, I don’t believe so. You can, though, easily duplicate the activity and
then change the web-site associated with it.

 Hello,
It's probably best to set it to ignores VO cursor. There are times where
it is beneficial to not have the mouse cursor follow the VO cursor. An
example of this is the Amazon website. If the mouse cursor is set to
follow the VO cursor it can cause all kinds of issues with the Amazon
site. There is also a command to move the mouse cursor to the VO cursor so
 ignoring is probably best.

Re: Mouse cursor follows voiceover cursor or ignores voiceover cursor

2022-03-14 Thread 'Tim Kilburn' via MacVisionaries
Hi,

I much prefer it to follow the VO cursor. For situations like the Amazon
web-site that were mentioned, I’ve just created an Activity to change that
behaviour for that, or those, specific web-sites. For me, it’s just easier to
ensure that the mouse is where I’m hearing things when trying to do actions on
the things I’m hearing through VoiceOver.

Later…

Hi!
Sometimes it can be good also to follow the mouse cursor.
But you can create a shortcut to turn that on or off if that’s needed.

Re: Mouse cursor follows voiceover cursor or ignores voiceover cursor

2022-03-13 Thread Mike Arrigo
In many cases it doesn't matter but on certain web sites it makes a difference.
On some web sites, a subcategory of links will only appear when the mouse is
moved over the main link. For example, you might have a link that says
"products," and then a sublist of products links would appear, but only if the
mouse is sitting on the products link. Really this is bad web design for
accessibility since it makes things difficult for those who don't use a mouse,
but it does happen. Setting the mouse to follow the voiceover cursor will
ensure that you see these links.

Re: Mouse cursor follows voiceover cursor or ignores voiceover cursor

2022-03-13 Thread Jonathan Cohn
That being said, one advantage of the mouse cursor following the VoiceOver
cursor, is that some voice over commands like
vo-shift-M contextual menu
Vo-space activate item
do not seem to work as consistently when the mouse is not somewhere within the
current VO cursor bounds.
That being said, the VO-shift-command-space (key seems to first move the mouse
cursor to the bounds and then do a mouse down or mouse up. The VO-Space key
issues probably depend on the role/type of object currently in the VO-cursor.

Best wishes,

Jonathan Cohn

Re: Mouse cursor follows voiceover cursor or ignores voiceover cursor

2022-03-13 Thread Greg Wocher
Hello,
It's probably best to set it to ignores VO cursor. There are times where it is
beneficial to not have the mouse cursor follow the VO cursor. An example of
this is the Amazon website. If the mouse cursor is set to follow the VO cursor
it can cause all kinds of issues with the Amazon site. There is also a command
to move the mouse cursor to the VO cursor so ignoring is probably best.

voiceover cursor or follow it? What is your experience. I’d appreciate your
