Hello James, I use a combination of VueScan and Readiris for OCR. VueScan does better scans but its OCR isn't up to much. Readiris is unusable with some scanners because of their drivers not being accessible, but its OCR is excellent. You can find my setup guide and user guide for these two apps on: and It's not worth wasting money on Omnipage any more since it hasn't been updated for around 8 years.
