I tried all the things you described, and I'm not experiencing any issues with TextEdit on 2021 14 inch MacBook Pro with M1 pro processor and 16 GB RAM, running macOS Monterey 12.3. Problem with Text Edit on latest Monterey
Running a Macbook pro 2019. For some reason, I cannot get Text Edit to open since the latest Monterey update. It freezes on me. What’s interesting though is I can open files in it no problems, but it freezes with Command N and if I open it from the Doc, nothing. Pages seems like it is also slow to respond.
