RE: Bootcamp vs VM fusion?

2017-08-04 Thread ilovecountrymusic483
Hi,

One advantage of using boot camp is that all the resorsis are used and this
could come ion handy, but you would need a pare of usb headphones to get sound
at first dirring the install. If you use vmware you will have to alacate ram
for your vm. HTH.

Subject: Bootcamp vs VM fusion?

So, I have used fusion in the past, but never fusion. Someone asked me witch
is better, but since I have never given bootcamp a spin, I can’t answer that.
So, anybody tried both, what is the advantages and disadvantages? Except with
fusion I know you can run both systems at once, so besides that? Personally, I
don’t even use windows enough to care, but told this friend I would ask the
experts.lol

RE: Bootcamp vs VM fusion?

2017-08-04 Thread Simon Fogarty
I have used both and use bootcamp on a daily basis

Fusion allows you to run both the mac and the windows machine at the same time
and flick between the 2 systems where as bootcamp is to be a more stable
platform but doesn't give you the option to switch easily without having to
restart your machine.

Either option has it's pros and cons, but it's really up to the user to figure
out what is better for them themselves.

Fusion is very good and out of the vm platforms it is pretty much fully
accessible. Bootcamp has some limitations regarding setup of the windows OS
such as no audio output until the bootcamp drivers are installed which is the
last step of the installation.

Fusion will let you install the os through the installation wizard.

Hope this is of some use.

Re: Bootcamp vs VM fusion?

2017-08-03 Thread Scott Granados
So I have used both, fusion is a better solution.

Bootcamp has the advantage of running natively so probably faster than in a VM
but that’s about it for advantages. You can’t use it as the same time as OS X,
the drive / boot loader selection screen is not accessible although very
memorizable, the OS X side needs to read NTFS to gain access to the volume and
you can’t easily move images around.

Advantages of fusion are you can easily backup images, copy them from machine
to machine, run them at the same time as OS X and the easy installer with
fusion makes windows so easy to install with out site assistance. In my
opinion bootcamp has little value. If you want to run windows get a windows
machine.:)
