First, you need to make certain that you expand the conversation you were reading with the right arrow key. Then, you should be able to hear much of the message you want. If you wanna read by character by word, press enter on the message you wish to read and then you can use your Aerokis left and right to read by character. Then option right arrow and option left arrow will read a word forward or a word backward respectively. I am not near my Mac right now. However, I may have given you the wrong command for reading by word. If option right there on option left arrow do not work, tri VO right and VO left. Hello, If you interact with splitters, you can move them. For users with no sight this will make no difference except when you move them to where they say "0%' or 100%" then either the left or right panel will have been hidden and and VO can no longer navigate to it. This also means that if you use VO-J to jump from panel to panel, there will be one less item in that jump sequence. Specifically for mail, if you move the first spliter to the far left: 1. Move VO cursor to splitter 2. Interact with the splitter (vo-shift-downarrow) 3. VO-Left until VoiceOver says zero percent Now VO-J will jump from toolbar to list of messages to selected message. Several of the people on this list prefer not to have the message panel available. This will prevent messages from being marked read just by moving past them and means that a new window will open when you press return on a message in the message list. HTH!
