Took a chance and grabbed it.

I haven't used voice dream reader in a while but always open to new tools and

Re: Voice dream scanner has been released

2019-03-31 Thread 'Donna Goodin' via MacVisionaries
Hi Mary,

I use Bookshare a ton. But I usually read the books in braille on my
VarioUltra. I prefer reading to listening, so I like that option much better.
If I do listen to a book, I have both the Bard app, and an Audible
subscription, so I usually use one of those options. I love the Voice Dream
Reader app, but just find that with these other options, I don't end up needing
it much.
Cheers,
Donna

2019-03-31 Thread Petrus Tuerlings
Hi Mary,
Yes, I noticed this when I did the update on voice dream reader, Even though it
is $9.99 in New Zealand I still think it is worth it. The more options we have
to read printed text the better.
Take care,
Petrus

Wow! I can’t imagine not using Voice Dream. I guess you don’t use book share
much? I have a massive voice dream reader library, much of which comes from
book share, although not all, since you can get PDF files from all over and
import them into Voice Dream, which I have done.

Yes they are two different apps, but not having to use the internet is a plus,
so Voice Dream Scanner and Seeing AI are both good for different things.

Re: Voice dream scanner has been released

2019-03-30 Thread Mary Otten
Hi Jonathan,
I’m not sure what you mean by camera scan’s. It does scan documents using the
camera. So yes, if that’s what you mean. And it does a very good job in my
experience.

Does this do camera scans too? i find the document scanner in Seeing AI never
seems to find all the edges, but I don't feel the need for a $100 OCR solution
like KFNB.

Best wishes,

Re: Voice dream scanner has been released

2019-03-30 Thread Mary Otten
Hi Donna,
Well, what makes it better at least for me is that I get better scans. And also
everything is done on the phone, nothing in the cloud. And I get to read with
my Voice Dream voices, rather than what knfb wants me to read with. That is a
personal preference of course. The app is fast. I like the PDF feature. I like
being able to save the documents in my voice dream library if I so choose. It’s
just a simpler interface. But for me the bottom line is, I get better results.
