Re: keyboard/trackpad question

2018-01-07 Thread Tim Kilburn
Simon,

Had my AmEx with me, my iPhone for basic stuff, but no Mac. Was a family
birthday weekend out in the sticks. No time to play on computers, too many
other activities and consumption of tasty beverages. Back in town now, so not
enough time past to actually go through withdrawals.

No, what your looking for is under system preferences
Bluetooth an dhten advanced,

There are 2 tick boxes you need to un tick and that will then get rid of your
prompting searchs for Bluetooth / mouse and keyboards.

Try that before going and purchasing something you really aren't going to need.

What I'm trying to do is get rid of the searching for mouse dialogue and have
something I can use in my lap. The three products I mentioned hold an apple

Not sure why you need an accessorie to link the keyboard and track pad together?

If they are Bluetooth devices then why not just use the Mac OS built in

Subject: keyboard/trackpad question

Hi, Ok sorry in advance this email might be a bit long... My macbook pro died,
I replaced it with a Mac Mini. I connected a Logitech bluetooth keyboard to the
Mini but OSX keeps bringing up a searching for mouse dialogue. The dialogue is
really annoying. So I thought I'd buy an Apple wireless keyboard and trackpad
and link them together with an accessory. It seems Like there are three
accessories to do
this:
MeshWe Bluefin
Henge Docks Clique
and Twelve South Magic Bridge

Anyway the reviews on amazon for all of these products vary all over the place.
So, I was wondering if anybody on the list had any experience with one of these
products?
Thanks Jeff

Re: keyboard/trackpad question

2018-01-04 Thread Tim Kilburn
Hi,

There is a way to turn off that notification. I believe that it is in system
preferences, mouse, and there will be an advanced option in there. I’m not
positive though and do not have a computer handy as I am out of town right now.

Later…

Re: keyboard/trackpad question

2018-01-04 Thread jeff `greene
Hi Jonathan,
What I'm trying to do is get rid of the searching for mouse dialogue
and have something I can use in my lap. The three products I mentioned
hold an apple keyboard and trackpad together so they are like one
unit.
Thanks Jeff

Re: keyboard/trackpad question

2018-01-04 Thread Jonathan Cohn
I am not sure what you are trying to do. Are you just looking for a way to
have your wireless components not get lost? Also, there should not be a
practical reason to replace a Logitech keyboard with an Apple one unless
you prefer the touch of the Apple keyboards.
