The iPhone app is definitely accessible. I'm not for sure about the Mac app.

I'm using ActivityPub, the open and federated standard supported by 
Mastodon, Pleroma, etc., for social media. I prefer it to the 
single-provider, corporate options. Mona for Mastodon is a very good 
MacOS and iOS application for interacting with it, too.

The default app is usable for the most part. there are some things that drive 
me nuts like when retweeting or whatever it’s called today.
