Re: Good News about Safari and Bookshare XML Files
Harry, this is genius. This worked perfectly. I still don't know why Safari only blocks new bookshare files but now I can read them. To show the develop menu in the menu bar, go to the Preferences dialog from the Safari menu. Select the Advanced tab and you will find the option to show the develop menu. Thank you so much for sharing this Harry. -Greg On Nov 4, 2012, at 10:27 PM, Harry Hogue harryhog...@gmail.com wrote: Hello, guys, I know I, and others, and been having issues reading .xml files from Bookshare in Safari. Hi Greg, glad I would help. Thanks for reminding us how to find and enable the Develop menu option, as I could not remember for the life of me! Re: Good News about Safari and Bookshare XML Files
Amber, you're very welcome. it was the most annoying problem to me, because I simply could not understand what was causing it, and knew neither the Bookshare folks nor the Apple folks would have a clue. Glad to help. Harry On nov 5, 2012, at 3:34 p.m., Amber Wallenstein amber.wall...@gmail.com wrote: Harry: Thank you so much! I have been having this problem with BKS files for a while. Thanks again! Re: Good News about Safari and Bookshare XML Files
Hi Alex, Yes, you're exactly right. having been on the Windows side of my mac, I was thinking in half Windows terms there for a second. Sorry about that! I have yet to try the latest Safari update, actually, but I will run a check for software updates now. Thanks for letting me know.
