Re: Help with Abby fine reader

2016-08-07 Thread Jenine Stanley
Hi,

To install the app, yes, copy the file to your applications folder and press
command-o to open it. the app should then install itself.

If you don’t have a scanning device plugged into your Mac, you will just see
the computer itself listed under devices.

First
You will see an area called New
Task. This will be at the far left. Your cursor and focus will land on the
Title area which should show your computer.

Use VO-Right arrow to move to the Convert to Word button.

Once you activate this button, you will be taken to a standard Open file dialog
where you can choose the file you want to convert. There are also several
options in this dialog for how you want that file to be processed.

Hope that helps get you started.

I got my copy from the Mac App Store. That way, the serial number is embeded in
the app, so no activation of any kind is required. Plus, each and every single
app from the Mac App Store are tied to your Apple ID, just like apps from the
iOS app store, so the app can be installed on as many macs as you like, so long
as they are all signed into the same Apple ID.

That’s where I got mine also. It’s been so long ago now though that cost is
irrelevant in my case. It was one of the first apps I purchased after switching
