Hi, To install the app, yes, copy the file to your applications folder and press command-o to open it. the app should then install itself. If you don’t have a scanning device plugged into your Mac, you will just see the computer itself listed under devices. First You will see an area called New Task. This will be at the far left. Your cursor and focus will land on the Title area which should show your computer. Use VO-Right arrow to move to the Convert to Word button. Once you activate this button, you will be taken to a standard Open file dialog where you can choose the file you want to convert. There are also several options in this dialog for how you want that file to be processed. Hope that helps get you started. I got my copy from the Mac App Store. That way, the serial number is embeded in the app, so no activation of any kind is required.
