I’m not sure what the difference is between combo boxes for entering 
data and edit text fields.  Is there more than just interacting?

With a Combo box, you are not typing in, but rather selecting from a list of 
pre-determined choices by using the cursor up/down arrow to place the focus on 
the selection you want to choose. In an edit field you will type information 
in.
