Re: How is everyone finding sierra?

2016-11-26 Thread Jürgen Fleger
Hi Jonathan,
yes, I created a new user but got the same results, as well on my iMac and on
my MacBook Air. No special settings, just standard settings. I can hardly
beleive you are not experiencing that. Maybe you are not aware of it because
you work differently or maybe because you use VO keys or quick nav all the time
anyway?
All the best

Re: How is everyone finding sierra?

2016-11-26 Thread Jonathan Cohn
I have never experienced these issues. Perhaps do you have speak text under
mouse enabled and also mouse follows VO cursor? I could see some possibility of
how those settings would cause the dialog boxes to speak everything when moving
to the last item on screen. It might be worthwhile creating a temporary user to
see if you get this overspeaking of dialogs and under speaking of column mode
in finder.

Best wishes,

Jonathan Cohn

It may be different apps that are causing different Voice Over difficulties.
Running in background services etc.

Take care

Re: How is everyone finding sierra?

2016-11-25 Thread Scott Granados
I haven’t gotten the voice over lag myself. I find it very interesting in this
thread how different all of our voice over experiences are. Some are much more
stable than others and it seems the experience is different from the same
machine classes. I do notice the clean installs do the best but as mentioned
some have tried this and still have issues. I wonder what the cause is of the
inconsistency?

HI.

I sometimes have the issue you described with stopping interaction, but not
with VO repeating what’s focused 3 times.

Thanks

Re: How is everyone finding sierra?

2016-11-25 Thread Jürgen Fleger
Hi,
the most annoying in my opinion is the sluggishnes of VO. For example: If I
press CMD + w to close a document in Textedit without saving it I always press
VO + FN + right arrow to jump quickly to end and then twice VO + left arrow to
find „don’t save“. I press these key combinations quickly but VO reads all
buttons it passed one after the other and reads them out loud before it
actually reads the button I’m sitting on for ages.
Another annoying thing is VO doesn’t always give voice feedback if I navigate
through files and folders in Finder, if column view is set and I just use arrow
key up or down to move around. I’m forced to use VO + arrow keys to move around
if I want to hear all the folder and file names VO passes. Not a real big thing
but like that it’s not really nice to use first letter navigation.
I like Sierra but from OS to OS VO seems to me to become less responsive and
more sluggish in reading content. Hopefully Apple is going to recognize this
and then fix it.
All the best
Jürgen

I did have return from sleep mode issues in the beta but that’s the beta so a
different animal but somewhat related to your log in issues so it might
indicate in your case a problem supporting the older display drivers.

Siera, In my opinion, can still use work.
While it runs fine on my MacBook Pro late 2011, I noticed that VO does tend to
crash on the login screen, and sometimes it reloads it's self, and sometimes
it does not.

2016-11-25 Thread E.T.
One that comes to mind is VO, after closing an app such as Finder,
it goes to the desktop and whatever item is focused, VO will repeat it 3
times.

Another one is when I stop interacting, VO does not always say
anything as if I did not stop interacting.

2016-11-24 Thread Scott Granados
HI, loving serial for the most part so far. Works very well, the unlock with
your watch feature is great, stability seems good and the performance is very
good on modern hardware. I’m running a Mid 2015 15 inch MacBook with the 2.8
quad core I7 to give you an idea. Installation was very painless.
There are some issues with the beta 10.2 code but if you stick to the
production releases you should be very happy.
