Re: Ideas for games?

2013-05-20 Thread Patrick Neazer
Hello Michael:

While I am not necessarily looking for recognition or credit, I will actually
drop two cents into the hat hear :).

I used to play nentendo sports games when I was a teenager. I am totally blind
and could compete rather well playing both their version of baseball and double
dribble, their basketball game … I just showed my age :).

Making an accessible sports game might be worth exploring. I would buy it.

Take good care and I wish you enough.

For the purposes of satisfying the moderators, I need to say something like …

Could not resist :).

As a big sports fan, and someone who could once see, I really miss all the
baseball strategy games. Not sure why none of these games like Strat-o-Matic
where you can use any player from any team isn't accessible, as this is a dice
based game, and not a graphics game. There should be a fantasy like baseball
game that is strategy based that should be made accessible. Thanks for the
reminder of the Nintendo Games, wow did I love Baseball Stars.

Re: Ideas for games?

Hi,
There are lots of holes in the gaming market needing to be filled. How about an
accessible pinball game that's so like ordinary pinball as you can get? or a
slot machine, yes i know there's accessible fruit machine, but there should be
others as well. Sports games like boxing, hockey, football (both american and
european) and so forth? Rpg games?
Well there's my 2 cents in this subject.

Re: Ideas for games?

2013-05-20 Thread Harry Hogue
Hello,

I would love to see an accessible version of soccer and also baseball, where
you have complete control of all aspects of the game from selecting players,
etc. and also that they be as realistic as possible.

Thanks!

Harry

Re: Ideas for games?

2013-05-20 Thread Søren Jensen
Hi Michael.

Sounds really great.
If you are thinking about multiplayer games, a pack of sports games would be
really awesome.
If you are thinking about single player games, Angry birds would be amazing.
I'm not sure about what those games are about, but they must be very addicting.
:)
If you haven't already done so, I'll highly recommend you to send the same
message on the audio games forum at:
www.audiogames.net
There are many people who are really great when it comes to giving great
feedback.
I look very much forward to hear more about this project.

I would definitely buy an RPG game that is actually based on true
fantasy like LOTR or DND.

I know this is not a big deal to most, but there are quite a few card junkies

Re: Ideas for games?

2013-05-20 Thread Nicholas Parsons
1. Texas Hold'em Poker. This should be relatively easy to develop, could be
completely accessible to both blind and sighted, could be multiplayer and
absolutely brilliant. AllInPlay is a fantastic platform but unfortunately
non-existant on the Mac or iOS.

2. Monopoly. There are some great Monopoly games on iOS which are really
fantastic, but fantastically inaccessible. RSS Games on the Mac is great, but
it's not playable by sighted people and doesn't exist on iOS.

3. I would love some kind of strategy game, whether turn based or real time.
Something with pikemen, archers, and knights, castles, keeps and catapults and
the like. This would be my favourite by far, but I think it would be difficult
to develop. SoundRTS is an example on Mac/Windows, but I don't think it would
work on iOS. Aegis is a text-based browser-based game, as is KingsSword, so
they might be a better model.

Re: Ideas for games?

2013-05-20 Thread Jessica Moss
I like the Texas Holdem idea as well, and maybe some more card games like Uno,
more solitare games, especially something like Spider solitare,, different
types of word games where you don't have to have an internet connection in
order to play them, but can if you choose to, if you feel that playing against
your friends is a must, and I was hoping, either for the Mac, or IOS, probably
would be easier for the Mac, something similar to the Wild West table, that the
ESP pinball table offered, sense that's something I've missed for years, and
the silver Dollar game doesn't quite cut it yet.

Re: Ideas for games?

2013-05-20 Thread Katey Glass
Along the card theme, I'd like to see an accessible Uno game that could be
enjoyed by both sighted & blind alike. Sort of like the DiceWorld app is
accessible by both blind and sighted.

I like the Texas Holdem idea as well, and maybe some more card games like
Uno, more solitare games, especially something like Spider solitare,,
different types of word games where you don't have to have an internet
connection in order to play them, but can if you choose to, if you feel
that playing against your friends is a must, and I was hoping, either for
the Mac, or IOS, probably would be easier for the Mac, something similar
to the Wild West table, that the ESP pinball table offered, sense that's
something I've missed for years, and the silver Dollar game doesn't quite
 cut it yet.

Re: Ideas for games?

2013-05-21 Thread Nicholas Parsons
I'm sorry, everyone, all of you who said Uno or sports got the answer wrong.
Clearly the right answer, and best game by far, is Texas Hold'em, followed by
Monopoly and strategy games. Now, let me go and create some dummy accounts to
lend voice to the truth I have just revealed.
P.S. Uno is a great game, just not as cool as Texas Hold'em.

For what it's worth, I'd be quite happy with a fully accessible Solitaire game,
with options to flip one or three cards at a time and so on. Some board games
would be okay, but I really do wish there was a completely accessible Solitaire
app for iOS.

Likewise, one for the mac as well if there isn't already that I don't know
about.
