Re: In app purchases on iOS apps

2022-03-01 Thread Phil Halton
That’s what I thought. Yeah, it’s usually a short free trial. Or a stripped
down version that is virtually useless. Then you find out it’s big dollars to
unlock it. I wouldn’t of wasted my time installing it if I knew with some of
these costs are. Very deceptive and dishonest. Maybe a note to the app
developers B blasting them for their dishonesty and telling them I’ll go to
one of their competitors. but what good is that really gonna do. Maybe just
make me feel a little better.

Phil,

Basically you get the app for free or very cheap, but it’s trimmed down to just
a few features.

You find out what the full features cost after you run the app.

Hi Lorie,

In App Purchase means that some features of a particular application
requires one to purchase them.
Only limited features are accessible. It's like some advance features will
only work once you'll purchase them.
Though you can use the application with limited functionality.

Hope this helps

Re: in app purchases

2020-05-01 Thread Petrus Tuerlings
That means the App itself is free but there are areas or functions in the app
that you need to pay for. For example if it is a game you can play to a certain
level and then you need to pay to keep playing it, or you can buy different
games within the app if it has more then one game available. Or it can be a
news App where you can get free content and then you need to pay for more
interesting stories. And you purchase these things from within the app. So if
you buy a book in the Apple Books app that is an IN App purchase, even though
the app is free.

Hello,
Apple doesn't charge taxes on in-app purchases. I don't see how they can
actually charge for items that aren't physical in nature. Same would go for
second life. Skype id eheil01 if anyone wants to have a mac chat
or whatever. HOpe this helps.
