Re: Netflix

2016-06-26 Thread Michael Babcock
Netflix works awesome on the phone, the computer for what I've seen it works
fairly well, but I primarily use it on the phone. If you have an Apple TV, it
also works Super Bowl not both third and fourth generations. The final feature
of Netflix that I think may be beneficial to other blind individuals if people
weren't aware of it is that a lot of their titles now have audio description,
especially if it's a Netflix produced title.

I use NetFlix all the time on my IPhone, IPad, Nexus 6, mac, and Windows

simply say that it's probably one of the best experiences for watching
movies/TV shows that I've found. Further, the times I've called and spoke
to their phone support team, they've been very very willing to help me in

Hey everyone,

I am thinking of canceling cable, because we just don’t use it much.

We just got Hulu, and that is working awesome.

What I want to know is, does Netflix work well, either on the computer or on
the iPhone?

Thanks,

Hi Brandon,

My husband and I ditched our cable last fall. We now watch either Netflix, or
content that we own. Netflix works great, both with our Apple TV and on my

Brandon, One other thing that I really like about Netflix is that their staff
is all US based. At least as far as I can tell, they don't outsource I thing. I
have never called and got an accent unless it be a southerner or whatever.

Re: Netflix

2016-06-26 Thread Scott Granados
Donna, I’ve been thinking of doing the same thing but can’t quite get my head
around not having channels to turn to. I’m still a product of the old
television way of doing things. How about news or other live broadcasting? Do
you miss it? Do you still get it in other ways?
How about the cost savings, are they as significant as people claim?
Do you miss the older style of TV access or are things going well. Maybe if
nobody objects you could talk a little more about your cord cutting experience?
Are you still receiving Internet over the cable or are you all wireless or
some other access method?

Re: Netflix

2015-06-02 Thread Christine Grassman
I have played around with this quite a lot, and have not been able to do it.
Very frustrating. It’s too bad there isn’t a continuity of this between the
Netflix app on the iPhone and the Mac.

I have also noticed that not all of the shows listed on their audio described
list even have the option.

Very true. What I meant was that is the typical corperate answer. We messed

ANd that probably is somewhat a true statement. Assuming they get the fix then
they have to wait for Apple to approve. I imagine like most larger
organizations it will take them time to affect a fix.

I play them often. Starting a movie is no problem, but you can't
interact with the player's controls once it's playing. So, you can't
pause, rewind, etc.

Re: Netflix on Mac?

2012-02-29 Thread Teresa Cochran
The site works fairly well on the Mac. You do have to download the silverlite
plugin, which safari will find for you. The downside is that as far as I know,
there isn't a way to use the controls for the player, i.e. play, pause, etc.
You would have to start the video over again. Someone correct me, please, if I
am wrong. I'd love to be wrong in this.

Re: Netflix and apple tv

2015-07-22 Thread ROBERT CARTER
Hi,

Audio description only works on the third generation. You can, however, use an
iPhone or iPad and get Netflix descriptions and then airplay the show including
descriptions to the Apple TV. The second gen cannot run the latest Apple TV
update which is required for audio description.
