Surely it could not have taken you five hours to install Lion. That is
impossible. Maybe to install Lion, set everything up, and install all of your
apps, but even then something just doesn't add up.

RE: Trying to reinstall operating system, not sure if I did it right

2012-05-05 Thread Missy Hoppe
LOL! That is an understatement: VO start-up under lion being buggy. A few
months ago, I did a clean install to see if it
would help, but as far as I was concerned, the clean install had way more
quirks than my upgrade install. Thank God for
Carbon Copy Cloner; I just restored my original lion install, and have resigned
myself to dealing with VO's quirks. Every
time a lion update is released, I keep hoping they'll fix whatever they broke,
but so far, no dice. I'm a bit nervous about
Mountain Lion, but hopefully it will end up being better than Lion. I guess
only time will tell.
I guess the poit is that I agree with Daniel; reinstalling lion to fix that 1
little quirk was probably overkill, but at
least Apple has made the OS installation accessible, so if nothing else, I
suppose it was good mac practice.

That is interesting Daniel because I have no such issues with Lion at all. I
always have VO speaking at the login prompt.

I've reported them to Apple for investigation, so perhaps they'll be
 addressed in Mountain Lion.

It was almost like it just booted up normally.

I didn't know how to do it, so I probably did it wrong. But o yes, there must
be a pod cast for that too since my questions are too inconvenient for the
listers to answer and I need to be spoon fed and am too lazy aparently to look

Re: Trying to reinstall operating system, not sure if I did it right

2012-05-05 Thread Jenny Keller
Is it a bug in Lion that sometimes, it will go to the log in screen and
sometimes, it will just go to the desktop?

that was the major problem.

It was getting a little rediculous that I was having to boot my system twice to
get it to boot up in the desk top like it's supposed to.

all the settings are correct.

Re: Trying to reinstall operating system, not sure if I did it right

2012-05-05 Thread Kliphton
I can't say to much here because of my agreement with the dev team. But I can
say you will be pleasantly surprised with mountain lion. And the reason it
took five hours to reinstall lion, is because I erased my hard drive first.
Sorry, should have specified that.
On May 5, 2012, at 2:51 PM, Missy Hoppe wrote:

LOL! That is an understatement: VO start-up under lion being buggy. A few

would help, but as far as I was concerned, the clean install had way more
quirks than my upgrade install. Thank God for
Carbon Copy Cloner; I just restored my original lion install, and have
resigned myself to dealing with VO's quirks. Every
time a lion update is released, I keep hoping they'll fix whatever they
broke, but so far, no dice.
