Re: Yubikey?

2020-12-18 Thread Brett Lewis
Hi,
This works exactly the same way on the Mac. You just touch the key and it
authenticates. I should note this also works on iPhones.
If they have the NFC chip built-in you can just touch them to the back of the
iPhone and touch your finger and it authenticates.

Re: Yubikey?

2020-12-18 Thread 'Janina Sajka' via MacVisionaries
Hi, Donna:

Regretably, I've no experience using it on a Mac, but I can't imagine it
would be any different.

It's such a little thing for me, the user. Just touch the back of the
device that's in the USB port after typing my few chars.

But, it will be good to hear a confirmation from someone with experience
on a Mac. I responded just because I'm thinking there might not be a lot
of folks with experience with Yubi keys.

Hi, Donna:

I use a Yubi key regularly to access my employer's VPN network and all
relevant services on that network. It works for me as follows:

1.) I log into my Windows laptop computer;

2.) I access the Cisco VPM application and press enter on the

3.) When the screen asking for my keyword plus the Yubi key appears,
I type my pass phrase -- just a few chars -- then I reach over to my
laptop, where the Yubi key is permanently installed in a USB port and
simply touch it. I don't even have to press it very hard.

4.) When I start to hear screen reader activity, I know I can let go
of the Yubi key.

5.) When I hear the chime indicating success I have full VPN access
until the VPN requires me to renew my connection through this same
process.

Please note I have no idea about setting up this device. I recieved it
along with the laptop from my employer and have been using it without
