Re: Running Ubuntu in vmware fusion.

2018-09-14 Thread Anders Holmberg
Hi Chris!
Yes i have actually turned Vo off as i tierferes with the speech and braille in
ubuntu.
But i can not get the consoles to come up as i would like it to.
I come to think of i f i should try option+command to see if this would work.
I don’t think so but its worth a try.
I will do some more research on this as its something i would like to be able
to do in linux.

Re: Running Ubuntu in vmware fusion.

2018-09-13 Thread Chris Moore
Hello,
I haven’t tried this in vmware, but as I recall, there are keystrokes for
switching between consoles.
Unless it has changed, Ubuntu has six text consoles accessed with ctrl+alt+f1
through control+alt+f6 and the graphical console with ctrl+alt+f7

On the mac, ctrl+alt would equate to ctrl+option which is the VO key. So I
would try turning VO off in fusion before trying the above keystrokes to switch
consoles.

Re: Running Ubuntu in vmware fusion.

2018-09-12 Thread Jonathan Cohn
Hello,

I gave up on it two years ago and haven’t tired since. When I tried to start
the screen reader in the linux variant you mention, it just beeped and then
nothing else happened. Though I have to say I haven’t used Linux since the
ability to read the screen left me.

Sorry for the bad phrasing there, but in any case I would love a step by step
from somebody on getting a Linux environment speaking within a Macintosh VM.

Running Ubuntu in vmware fusion.

2018-09-11 Thread Anders Holmberg
HI!
I have a small problem when i run ubuntu in vmware fusion.
I can not toggle between the graphical environment and the text consoles in
Ubuntu.
And there seems to be no sollution for it.
I have tried to search on google for a sollution but only found one for vmware
workstation.
So if someone is using linux with vmware fusion i would like to have some help.
Thanks in advance.
