Re: Selecting photos to add to an album?

2018-11-27 Thread 'Tim Kilburn' via MacVisionaries
Hi,

I find it much easier to do on iOS. The iOS device does a better job of
labeling the photo and seems easier to work in. I have over 58,000 photos in
my library, so I like it to be easy to work in. The Mac does process things
much quicker and some aspects like importing large quantities of photos from
DSLR cameras is more convenient on the Mac. All that being said, to add photos
to an album in iOS, do the following:

• open the Photos app
• select Albums from the tabs across the bottom.
• if you need to create an album, double-tap the Add button at the top of the
screen.
• give it an appropriate name.
• open the All Photos album, then double-tap the Select b button.
• double-tap on each photo you wish in the album. As you do this, VO will
announce that such-in-such photo is selected.
• once you have the photos you want selected, move your finger down to the
bottom of the screen and double-tap the Add To button.
• double-tap the album name you wish these photos added to and you're done.

A few things to note. When photos are placed in an album, they still remain in
the All Photos album. It's just a database entry that lets you access the
photo from multiple albums. Also, there is only one copy of the photo in your
library, it's simply referenced in multiple locations. I've also found it
beneficial to add in smaller sets. If I accidentally do something when
selecting hundreds of photos, it makes me want to curse. So, do 15 or 20, add
them to the album then do the next group and add them to the album.

HTH.
