Voice Over and Arabic?

2009-09-12 Thread Michael Busboom
Hello everyone,

The subject sort of says it all. I am wondering if Snow Leopard comes in
Arabic and if there is Voice Over support for the Arabic language. I am
guessing that the TTS would have to be purchased through a third party.

Any feedback would be greatly appreciated.

My best to all,

Mike

Hello Mike,

I don't know about an Arabic voice being available, but Arabic Braille
is available for testing if you are interested.

Cheers,

Anne

beable to do it since, i aussme, you do not own a mac yet. Or do you
Here is the link anyway to the third party voice developer. They give
you a 30 trial before you decide to purchase which is amp
le time for anyone.

RE: Voice Over and Arabic?

2009-09-12 Thread Michael Busboom

Hi.

Actually, I do own a Mac, but I don't speak Arabic. I am also afraid that I
know very little about what is available for that language.

Is there an Arabic version of Snow Leopard? Once the language has been
tested and commercially available, could the Mac be configured to
automatically load the third-party Arabic TTS as soon as the system has
booted into Snow Leopard?

Many thanks,

Mike

Re: Voice Over and Arabic?

2009-09-12 Thread Justin Harford

I think another good question here might be, how is the localization
in Arabic. Certainly assistivewear have had an arabic voice for the
last 6 months, but can the system localize in Arabic?

Localization was Voice Over and Arabic?

2009-09-12 Thread James Nash

When we want the system localized, presumeably we have to install the
language packs for that language in the instalation? I.e. If I want to run
my system in French or here the VO Guide in French I need to install the
French Language yes? Will this also install the keyboard layout?

Thank you
