RE: Problem with Owc Thunderbolt dock under Windows 7 with bootcamp
I've got an apple thunderbolt or mini display to VGA adaptor that I use sometimes on a big screan, I find I have to restart the mac book air I have if I try to plug the adaptor in to windows while it's going, for some reason it doesn't just plug and play, it does with Mac OSX but not windows and that's on my windows 10 side. But I have all the correct bootcamp drivers installed so possible I've missed something alogn the way. -Original Message- From: macvisionaries@googlegroups.com [mailto:macvisionaries@googlegroups.com] On Behalf Of Scott Davert Sent: Wednesday, 16 November 2016 10:46 PM To: macvisionaries@googlegroups.com Subject: Re: Problem with Owc Thunderbolt dock under Windows 7 with bootcamp So Windows 10 it is then. Hi I too have windows running under bootcamp and I have two thunderbolt hard drives. They have never worked under windows 7 or now under windows 10. They work fine under OSX. I think its just how the bootcamp drivers are written, that as soon as you switch to windows thunderbolt is turned off. RE: Installing Windows 7 under bootcamp without sighted assistance
Bootcamp grabs windows installation files from the image of the windows installation disk and writes those files plus apples bootcamp drivers for the installation all on to a flash drive. Then when the install is ready to run it grabs everything from the flash drive and installs on to your bootcamp partition which was specified during the setup / configuration process. But due to the apple bootcamp drivers not being installed till the very last stage you have no audio or possibly usb so therefore no audio output is possible. I must admit I haven't tried using USB speakers during the setup of windows in bootcamp so it might be worth a try as I know it works with a normal computer installation of windows systems. Hope that makes more sence. -Original Message- From: macvisionaries@googlegroups.com [mailto:macvisionaries@googlegroups.com] On Behalf Of BBS Sent: Monday, 4 January 2016 7:53 PM To: macvisionaries@googlegroups.com Subject: RE: Installing Windows 7 under bootcamp without sighted assistance Hi. Re: Installing Windows 7 under bootcamp without sighted assistance
Hi Shawn, I'm a little confused too and thus a bit nervous because having read the supporting documentation on Apple's support pages for windows 7 - which is the version I want to install via bootcamp on my 2010 macbook air - I don't know whether I can install windows 7 from its disk which I have or whether I must create an .iso image from teh the original disk and use that. Why or why aren't instructions from the gurus ever clear? :) Although I chose to read the page on installing windows 7, I get an impression that some steps are meant for installation of windows 8 or higher. SOS! What is going on? Do I use my original installation windows 7 disk, or not? I understand that the flush drive is only for bootcamp windows drivers to be copied onto during the process and once windows is installed, one has to run the drivers from the usb flush drive. wifi-problems with windows 7 under bootcamp
Hi everyone, Sorry if this is slightly ot but i am using my mac privately now as well as in a workrelated situation. For the last situation i use windows 7 under bootcamp for productivity reasons. I notice however, that while on the macside wifi works great on windows the connection is VERY unstable, the network connection cant be established or it drops everytime and you have to reconnect manually. My macbook air is from july 2013 bur a friend of mine who has an older macbook with bootcamp and win7 is running into the seem issues. I was wondering if more people have these and what your solutions are? Apparently bootcamp installs 3 wifi drivers and i was wondering if that might bring a conflict? I was wondering if an external wifi adapter might solve the issue? I think its weird still though because I have VERY good wifi on the macside and all the other stuff is working well when using bootcamp. Thanks in advance for any suggestions. Audio internet recorder for Windows 7 in Bootcamp
Hi, sometimes I need to record sounds from Internetexplorer in Windows 7 installed in Bootcamp on my MacBook Air 2010. On PCs I use Total Recorder for this and it works just fine. I installed Total Recorder in Windows on my MacBook Air but it seems not to work in this environment. Windows crashed totally and I had to recover it completely. To use Audio Hijack in the Mac partition is also not possible because I need the function on web sides with a flash player and so I have to use the Internetexplorer. So can someone recommend a piece of software that works like Total Recorder and works in Windows 7 in Bootcamp? Re: Audio internet recorder for Windows 7 in Bootcamp
Might be worth trying to do it with a virtual machine. Then the Windows audio is just another Mac app making sound which you can then record with your favorite mac audio recorder. In other words, try to move the problem into the Mac domain and you'll probably be able to solve it easier.
