This comes up every now and then. Short answer is that the list is what folks make of it. Long answer is that the name is probably a bit of an anachronisim at this point. The list was founded years before iPhone OS became iOS and then became accessible with VoiceOver. So as more and more folks became iOS users the overlap with the existing Mac Voiceover users was an obvious extension. Today we have another shift as folks embrace the latest Apple gadget into the ecosystem and the marketplace of ideas shifts into high gear. We'll find discussions of various scanners, headsets and other devices folks hook up to their machine. A few even venture Jaws questions as more Windows folks come over to the Mac but bring their virtualized windows as a safety net as they come up to speed on voiceover. In some ways the list is self selecting or self limiting. If somebody dives to far into Windows land or goes too far down a rabbit hole nobody will bother to answer and the thread just dies. So for me it's all about Macs and their fun cousins that make the whole family rich and interesting. Not sure we're there yet but Apple's push is for the cloud, rather than the desktop, to be your digital hub. The expectation is the desktop/laptop will fade over time such that continuously connected devices will be our main means of consumption and composition. Re: Wow!!!! apple watch is on its way.
He's right, it is very easy to set up. Do most of it from your phone, but you can also do stuff fairly easily from the watch. I haven't had much time tonight, so mostly just focused on getting everything paired up, and doing some tweaking of settings. Looking forward to putting it through its paces tomorrow. If you have the watch and the phone, yes you can get started immediately. The user guide is linked from the Apple Watch app if you need it. Hello, So I'm traveling currently and thus can't look at the user guide that you posted. Can I begin setting up my Apple Watch simply by pairing it with my iPhone? Re: Wow!!!! apple watch is on its way.
The Apple Watch app allows extensive configuration. This is just as well, because it would be too onerous if done from the watch face. The effect is also very pretty: once configured, it’s ready for you to use immediately. My watch is at last configured, and free from the continued need to use the iPhone. All that is required is to keep the two on the same Wi-Fi network. Tomorrow I will explore the apps from the watch itself, in depth. My first major comments and warnings to potential buyers are: Reserve power mode is inaccessible. Hardly surprising, of course, but still a disappointment. Siri on the watch is apparently not exclusive from the phone; the contacts are synced from your phone, so Siri must be on on your phone too. That means I can’t use it, because I can’t leak contacts to Apple. The wrist-raise detection is way too sensitive. I turned off announcements in Accessibility settings. It doesn’t affect the display, but you can’t turn off wrist detection completely without disrupting Apple Pay, so it’s as good as it’s going to get. The user guide is available here so you can get into all the details: http://help.apple.com/watch -- You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "MacVisionaries" group. I get my Sports model on Monday 27th although I was expecting mine in June so this was a pleasant surprise as I purchased mine on the 15th. Kawal. On 24 Apr 2015, at 01:45, Donna Goodin wrote: Enjoy!
