RE: You Tube downloader?

2018-04-09 Thread David Griffith

I am coming very late to this thread.
I also got nowhere with youtube dll but luckily the Ponts Media downloader
provides an easy front end.
Basically there is an option in the nenu to update the Youtube dll engine for
the program so it can be self updated fairly easily.
It works inconsistently with playlists but the function for downloading
individual files seems fine.
You can download it from.

2018-04-08 Thread Jeff Berwick
Hi there,

I struggled with this for a long time when I first tried youtube-dl too.

Put quotations around the url and make sure that you are using a double dash —
prior to the youtube-dl commands—hopefully the following line translates
correctly in email:

youtube-dl --extract-audio --audio-format mp3
"https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3IZAVUin01U”

Robert,
There are installation instructions on the youtube-dl webpage. You basically
copy and paste a couple commands into a terminal.

Re: You Tube downloader?

2017-11-07 Thread dan d.

This terminal commandwill download a youtube video and extract the vidio in
mp3, following the command will be an explanation of each part of
the commmand:

youtube.dl --restrict-filenames -x --audio-format mp3
--youtube-skip-dash-manifest --audio-quality 0 url

After the commandname the restrict part will put a hyphen in any spaces of the
name.

The -x says to extract the audio.

Format is obvious, others are available.

The manifest flag saves the time to download unwanted info.

The quality is from 0 - best to 9 - worst. The better the quality the larger
the mp3 or other file format.

Url is the web address of the video/audio file. This application will download
most all video and audio files on the web, nlot just youtube
videos.

2017-11-06 Thread Chris Moore
Hello,
I just ran youtube-dl from the terminal to extract mp3.
You don’t need homebrew to install it. The terminal command looks something
like:
youtube-dl —extract-audio —audio-format mp3 url

You can get the url by going into youtube in safari,
locating the desired song,
use the copy link in the shortcut menu
and paste it into the terminal command with cmd+v

2017-10-26 Thread CHUCK REICHEL
Hi Anders,

When it doesn't appear to work the reason is theres at least a 3 or more
second minimum time the ad runs so you get the first part of the ad.
I wait several seconds and hit my hotspot that I marked on the skip button and
it skips the ad.

Hi E.T.
I use an app called softorino youtube converter. You bring it up and
have a blank edit field. You paste the web address of a youtube video
in the field then tab to 1080p 720p etc. At the bottom of the screen
is a save button. The app is not free, I got it in a bundle with
Waltr, both apps are developed by the same company. Actually, I
believe the app is now called S2 because they totally redid it.
Hope this helps! Jeff
