RE: any tips for using apple tv with YoutubeTV and Voiceover?

2024-05-22 Thread sarai.bucciarelli
Thank you! This is wonderful information.

Is there any way to add channels to favorites without hiding any?

I’d usually figure all this out on my own but am trying to take advantage of
the 10 day free trial.

Sincerely,Well Sarai,

While I cannot point you to any specific documentation, I would
be happy to give you a couple of usage tips. First, here's how to activate
audio description. IF you are using an Apple TV box.

Remember that when you first launch Youtube TV, 5.1 channel sound
will be activated. To access audio description, you will need to turn this
off. here's how:

1. From the main screen, go right until you hear "accounts". press this.

2. Now, go down to settings. Press this.

3. Next, go down to 5.1 channel surround. Press this. Press again to turn it
off.

4. Now, tune to a channel which you know has audio description.

5. Once there, press down until you hear, "networks".

6. Now, go left until you hear "settings". press this. You should now be in
the audio menus. Select secondary from this point.

To choose your favorite channels, you will want to use your iphone to do this.
Make sure you are logged in to youtube TV on your phone. Now, click on account
and then channel guide.

Feel free to point me to documentation. I have 10 days to decide if I want to

I mainly got it for the SEC baseball tournament. Lol.

Re: any tips for using apple tv with YoutubeTV and Voiceover?

2024-05-22 Thread Raymond Foret Jr
Yo Mark,

First of all, I learned about this configuration partly from desperately
experimenting with it and also just plain trying this and that till I found it.
Sometimes that's what you've just got to do in lue of an instruction manual
right? Anyhow, to get now to your other questions.

1. Most major cable networks now offer some level of audio description. Here
are just a few examples:

a: TCM.

B: USA.

C: TrueTV
D: TBS:
E: TNT.

Now, as for your phone, you will not need to turn off 5.1 channel sound due to
the fact that it's not part of your phone'
s normal sound compliment.

One very important detail to bear in mind. This applies to both your Apple TV
box and phone. If you want a channel to play audio description, you must first
tune to that channel and then go down till you hear "networks. Then go left
till you hear "settings". Press this then make sure you are all the way to the
left where the audio settings are.
On your phone, it's done a little differently. There's a menu with subtitles
and audio that you double click. Once on that screen, you want then to insure
you are focused on the audio menu. Go from there.

Keep in mind that even after you press on for audio description, it will not
stay that way. IF you tune away from a channel, you must follow the steps
before to get audio description to play again.
Sincerely,
The Constantly Barefooted Ray

2024-05-22 Thread M. Taylor
Hello Raymond,

This is excellent advice.

I love Youtube TV on my Apple TV.

I did not know that one has to disable 5.1 audio in order to enable audio
description.

I am going to try this, later, today.

Can you tell me how you learned of this configuration?

Also, do you know of any networks that support Audio description here in
the US or is the feature available on a show by show basis?

Finally, do I need to make a similar audio adjustment when using Youtube TV
on my iPhone / iPad?

I look forward to your reply and, again, thank you for the great info.
