Re: Clickable items in Safari
these are things where if a sighted person hovers the mouse over them, you get choices. If you do a vo shift m on them, you will get a menu to make choices from in regards to the clickable item. hth, Caitlyn > On Jun 8, 2015, at 12:32 AM, Jean wrote: > > Hello All: > What does it mean in Safari when an item says “clickable?” Is it a link? > When I hit VO space on such items nothing happens. It means the text can be interacted by clicking with the mouse. Unfortunately, it depends on the webmaster coding the site whether VoiceOver can activate the clickable text or not. > On 8 Jun 2015, at 05:32, Jean wrote: > > Hello All: > What does it mean in Safari when an item says “clickable?” Is it a link? > When I hit VO space on such items nothing happens. Re: Clickable items in Safari
Hello Jean, Often, clickable items are places where either a mouse hover or a mouse click will change what is shown on the page. Try bringing the mouse with VO-Cmd-F5 and doing a VO-Shift-Space type of click and see whether new items have appeared. I've tried every key combination possible, but I can't get the system to make the mouse click that I am used to hearing after the F5 trick...VO space isn't doing anything either. Try vo shift m. alternatively, you can try option enter. Vo-space should work. If not, move to the item, press vo-cmd-f5 (you might need to add the function key as well), and then click the mouse.
