Getting started with garage band.
Hi all. Anybody got docs/podcasts/Etc. for getting started with the latest version of garage band? I saw an article somewhere or other but it was for an older version where I believe you couldn't manipulate tracks and select things, and as I understand it, that's all been fixed now. But if something for an older version would get me up and running with most things, I'll take that too. Also, He could sign up for Safari Books online. I haven't even started counting all the different books for Garageband contained there. Re: getting started with garage band
Paul, I'd highly recommend the tutorial Ricardo Walker put together, but if that's not quite thorough enough, I have made a tutorial which is about 5 hours in length and I cover ever single question that you asked. The tutorial is $35.00 via paypal, and I can then send it to you once the payment is received. It's in mp3 format. If you are interested, write me off list, and let me know at: clgillan...@gmail.com This way we can work out payment arrangements. I'd like to be able to do a few different things with it though, for which I did not really find a lot of stuff to get me started. Can anyone please answer some or maybe all the following questions? Say I have an audio track in wav format, or anything for that matter. Is garage band a good tool to edit audio files? Can I normalize, copy, cut and paste easily in garage band, using voiceover, or should I stick with amadeus pro to do that type of job? In windows, I use sonar to create bits of music I need. If I want to use garage band, am I restricted to the built-in virtual instruments, or can I find other instruments elsewhere? When editing music created with virtual instruments, is it possible for us to do things like editing timings for notes, going to a particular measure and beat, and select, copy and paste material for virtual instrument tracks? I'm very interested to find out about this, because the sounds of the built-in garage band instruments are generally very promising. I don't have any experience in garage band yet using voiceover on the mac. Please tell me what you have found out already. Thanks a lot for taking time to answer this.
