2013-06-20 Thread Phil Halton

Uh, Chris,

I'd just like to let you know that there was absolutely nothing acusatory in
Steve's message. He wasn't blaming you or anyone else. He was just relaying
the fact that the link on BCT for the amadeus podcast is broken. Then he
added a little editorial comment about how they should eliminate the link if
they're going to toss out the linked files. It wasn't a personal attack on
you. Unless of course, you're the person who broke the link, which is a
ridiculous assumption. Man, lighten up!

Forgive me for saying all this in a public forum, but there it is. Oh by the
way, this isn't a personal attack on you either. It's just a clarification.
You might want to read Steve's reply again with different eyes - just a
suggestion.

Change the subject to match the topic please!!!

Logic 9 is usable with the custom key commands.
I have a friend that uses it every day.
There are about One Thousand key commands that can be customized for each

2013-06-19 Thread Chris Gilland
Keith,

It is my understanding at least, though I could be incorrect on this, so I
encourage you to research things further, and I could, and will, be happy to do
the same for you on your behalf if that would make it easier, but I don't think
Logic is all that terribly Voiceover friendly from what I gather. With this in
mind, I doubt that there are any tutorials out there in the form of a podcast.
I know there is somewhat of a guide which can be found at

http://www.icanworkthisthing.com

but I'm not sure how in depth it is.

If you'd like to discuss this further, shoot me back an e-mail, or give us a
call on our business line.

704-256-0067 and choose the option for tech support.

Chris.

Re: logic pro 9

2013-06-19 Thread Chris Gilland
I myself have not done any on Amadeus, but there is a very very! good
podcast done on

http://www.blindcooltech.com

once there just do a search for the word Amadeus. the guy is taking an old
lp record and converting it to mp3, but in the process, he does show you how
to edit, and move around, etc. It's quite in depth, and frankly, it's the
exact recording I used to learn the app myself. He did a bangup! job!

Re: Looking for good Logic Pro 9 tutorials.

2012-12-26 Thread Christopher-Mark Gilland
I don't mean to bust your bubble, but I am a professional musician, who records
and does all my music mixing, remasterring, editing, etc. completely from my
mac. If someone can prove me wrong, please please do so, but as far as I can
see, Logic is quite! inaccessible. If you really truely want to get more into
doing serious audio work, you'd be much much much better off, though way more
expensive biting the bullet and getting Avid's ProTools. That is what I use,
not to mention what is considered the industry standard.

Hey all! I just got an app-store gift-card from my Dad for Christmas so

recommend/send around links to any good tutorials for using it with Voice Over?
There were some really great ones for Garage-Band that really helped me get up
and running with it much faster and better than I would have learning on my
own, so I really hope there's similar stuff out there for Logic! Anyway, if
y'all can recommend anything I'd be hugely grateful.

Ok, thanks, and merry Christmas!

Re: Looking for good Logic Pro 9 tutorials.

2012-12-26 Thread Christopher-Mark Gilland

Sure thing!

I will give you a few very good resources.

If you go to:

http://www.kevinreeves.net

There, I think, is a very in depth tutorial that Kevin Reeves did on
ProTools. If you can't find it up there, let me know, and I'll try to dig
it up.

In addition, I very strongly would encourage you to join the PT Access
mailing list, where you will find a ton of us blind individuals including
myself who use ProTools on a very regular basis.

To join, send a blank e-mail with no body, nor subject to:

ptaccess+subscr...@googlegroups.com

Notice, I did not put a dash before the word subscribe in the above address.
I put a plus sign. That was *NOT!* a typo. I did that very intentionally.

Once you have sent this blank no body/no subject e-mail, you should receive
a message which you will need to reply to like usual to confirm your
subscription. I'd very very very very! strongly encourage you join that
list if you have any questions. And, as always, here on list, as well as
there, I'll be happy in the field of accessibility to discuss any questions
with you and others that you all may have regarding the program.

Thank you kindly,

Christopher-Mark Gilland.

Hi Christopher:

Now that this topic is brought by someone else I'll ask you sometning:
Your comments are very similar to what many people have suggested me.
But before I decide to buy the program or not, I'd like to hear about
the software and its accessibility more in depth. Could you give me
resources that I can use to get more info?

Thanks!

2012/12/26, Christopher-Mark Gilland clgillan...@gmail.com:

I don't mean to bust your bubble, but I am a professional musician, who
records and does all my music mixing, remasterring, editing, etc.
completely
from my mac. If someone can prove me wrong, please please do so, but as
far

as I can see, Logic is quite! inaccessible. If you really truely want to
get more into doing serious audio work, you'd be much much much better
off,

though way more expensive biting the bullet and getting Avid's ProTools.
That is what I use, not to mention what is considered the industry
standard.

Thank you kindly,

Christopher-Mark Gilland.

Hey all! I just got an app-store gift-card from my Dad for Christmas
so

that I can get Logic Pro 9. Yay! So I'm wondering if anyone here can
recommend/send around links to any good tutorials for using it with Voice
Over? There were some really great ones for Garage-Band that really
helped

me get up and running with it much faster and better than I would have
learning on my own, so I really hope there's similar stuff out there for
Logic! Anyway, if y'all can recommend anything I'd be hugely grateful.

Ok, thanks, and merry Christmas!

I may not agree with what you say, but I will defend to the death your
right to say it! (attributed to Thomas Paine).
