Yeah it’s a typical situation.

To do it properly you need to use an adapter.

I don’t know if you can transfer your mail via wifi.

Try using the migration tool built in to the Mac OS or look under the utilities 
menu,

It’s something  that you should really do at the time your setting up the new 
mac.
